Best options for single turbo upgrade...

Hey guys, I currently drive an Audi S4 and am selling it shortly to purchase a FD. I want to build a reliable motor and single turbo it shortly after I get it, or is it safe to run a single turbo on a stock motor? I am kind of a RX7 noob so I am looking into how much it will cost for building the motor up, buying, installing and tuning a single turbo kit and everything that I should look into getting when I do this. I am not too concerned with lag so that is no problem, it is primarily going to be a street car so no slicks or anything like that. I am basically trying to figure out the best kit and prices that I should be ready to pay for everything to be done safely and correctly. Any links would be great.
Also, is there any shops I can talk to in the New England area that could help me with this. Thanks.

Adam

If you have a new s4 I would keep it.
The new 350hp v-8 s4 also have a really effecient awd system.

Adam, you need to upgrade the fuel system, the engine management, and usually the ignition system to go single. You CAN do it on a stock engine block if you like, but many people port the engine to get that last bit of "oomph".

Here's how much it cost me to go single doing all my own labor:

Anyhow, the result is pleny of power on the street!

stock motors run fine with a single turbo. I would also say likely to be more reliable for pump gas and conservative boost. Too many things can go wrong with a ported motor. Alot of error involved. IF your starting out a stock motor with a decent turbo would be ideal. Less money also. I ran a single turbo on my stock motor for a while. 400 hp is easy on pump gas with the right turbo.
I used to live in NH and have seen your car a few times on NH101.
