3000GT Threat

His mods Stillen dp, intake, boosting 15 lbs. My mods cb, dp, intake, s/s clutch.

Off of roll his car does look pretty beatable...but off launch it's a menace. I saw him blow the doors off my friend's supercharged del sol with one wicked launch. I would have sworn it was a 10 sec car. My question is, do you guys think I can compete with that?

nah, you can take him no prob

i'm a former 3/s owner, after 2nd gear tops out (70ish), he's slower than ****

race him from a roll

not to mention, in order to launch that hard, it's DEADLY to his tranny/clutch, don't let his launch intimidate you, you'll reel him in like nobody's business

but you do need a powerFC to really be confident....

well it's got a jackson supercharger boosting 8 lbs., 55 shot of NOS wet style into the intake (not the manifold-so he's maybe getting 25 shots or so), and he's got cheater slicks not to mention JDM pistons, DC headers, full exhaust, and some other crap that doesn't really do much.

3000gt is like 1000lbs heavier then FD.
You should be able to get him, especially if you do it from a roll. He's got 4x4 drive advantage from a stop.

One of my best friends has a 3000GT and it will launch through first and some of second, but like 93BlackFD said it doesn't have anything after second gear. You can take him.

that car with a good launch will put down about a 13.1 @102 or so. My brother has, and they are right, after 2nd, its pretty done. it will take him about 3 seconds to hit boost in 3rd gear so thats when youll nail him and the pulling wont stop for a looong time. VR4's have sick top speeds but it takes a long time alot of power to get there so he should be no problem as long as your not goin faster thatn 180, lol.

Yeah, you wont even be able to go over 160mph probably without a upgraded ECU. Anyway it would be advisable to get a PFC and a mp. Anyway you are going to win regardless of the upgrade. Just stick it to him and so what your rotary is made of.

I only have a stock FD but, if any intake, cat-back, and dp will let you hang with a 3s running 15#'s, then I'm buying that stuff soon. All I know is that my 3k will crush my stock fd like nobodys business. There are differences in years though depending if he has a 5 or 6 speed. My car is basicly BPU'ed an I ran the quarter in 12.9 @ 105 running 15#'s on 94 octane pump gas.

He's got the '96 6 speed one. When his car was stock I put 6 car lenghts on him in no time. But now he's boosting more than a bar with virtually just two mods...so we'll see how it goes.
