Im in the process of buying 2 FC's, one for parts, and one to install them all into.

The 1st one is $1000, has a working engine, good body, suspension, 16 inch alloys, no PS, AC, or interior. The other car is a 10th Anniversary for 1600, everything works but the engine is about to go out...needs some body work.

What's the median price for rebuilding an engine with a streetport? I want to create one good running car, and then maybe try rebuilding the spare bad engine myself just for experience

 

Are you going to use it for track? I the first one a TII? what year? The price all depneds on what you want to do when you rebuild the car. If your going for pure track you will be dropping a few bucks.

 

Something to have as a nice daily driver, with some 'spirited driving' mixed in. A good reliable stablemate for my FD that will hit low 14's without costing too much. Im not too well read on the 2nd Gens...is it possible to put the turbos from the TII on the NA engine that will be rebuilt and dropped into the 10 AE?

 

Be carefull. TII's have a way of making you spend a ton of money on them. =]

 

Technically, YES, with some modification/adapters/etc. Realistically, NO... it isn't worth the effort. Rebuild the TII motor. An NA parts car is good for body and interior parts- everything else on the TII is "upgraded," unless it happens to be a 5-lug/4-piston car, in which case the brakes and rotors are also the same. Oh... control arms, subframes, that kind of thing are the same too... but not springs, swaybars, transmissions, differentials, driveshafts, axle shafts, clutches, slave cylinders, starters, wiring, etc. Don't waste your time with an NA for parts unless it is just for body parts... in which case, $1000 is a rip-off.

I'd just buy the 10th ae and get a new engine put in. $2-3k? a non turbo parts car is almost useless. everying on the engine and drivetrain is different. including the engine itself.
