You don't for very long. This porting was designed for racing where a peripheral port wasn't allowed but big power was wanted. The engine only had to last a race or so. They just use plenty of gasket sealer and pray. I wouldn't use that port style unless you have lots of time and money to spend on engines.

Should'nt really be a problem. Use sealant in the right places, at both the cut water seals and toward the water jackets and you should be find. Remeber when you go J-port and bigger you can upgrade the coolling system to run a lower psi than stock, or any port for that matter. Breaking the seal is only a problem if you did'nt seal it right, like scraped it or something. You could actually build a cooling system that did'nt have to be pressurized at all if you had enough frontal area. If there's no pressure, you can seal up anything! Ito, I really appreciated your help, I think I know what I'm going to do now.

release radiator vent as soon as possible after running, and drain coolant from block during storage.

Use Devcon epoxy in the water jacket in the general area and use some silcone sealant during assembly and you'll be surprised how long it would last!
