Gonna mod this winter and dont know what ecu i should have? plz help

I've gotten the opportunity to buy a used pettit but i dont know if it's any good.

Made a search but didnt find any good info.

My mods will be: bigger intercooler, DP, MP or high flow catback, open air filter.

Will also do a few other mods but they arent any hp gain mods.

I live in sweden so if im gonna buy a new ecu like an apexi pfc it would cost me about $1400-1500 with shipping.

Dont know the price on the used pettit but i think he bought it for about $600.

What is the price for a new pettit and how is it compared to a PFC tuning wise?

It all really depends on your goals with the car as to where your money should go...

damn, know it's even harder to choose

i'm not sure i got the money for a PFC this year but i really want some extra power.

I wont go any further than like 300-310 rwhp with stock turbos. For more i'm going single.
There is always so much i wanna do to the car and i always think about something for a long time before i do anything.

I guess i should make a list on what i want and a budget to see if i can afford it later on.

Oh and if i understood that other thread right does the pettit mean that u can't tune it?

The advantage of going with the Pettit now is that you can sell it later for not much less than you paid for it.

That said, I still think a stand-alone ecu is better IF you can tune it or get it tuned.

TobiasRX - You should talk with Gzon. He has the Pettit ECU and he's in Sweden. I was going to go with M2 a few years ago but, waited and got the PFC. I am very happy with it. If you decide to go Single down the road? Your all set!!
It's a pain in the *** we have to pay so much for parts shipped to Europe (import tax). Most of the time my sister can send it over as a gift and I get lucky.

Rynberg - looks like I'm following you again...............haha

yea heh i was in the same sit as u i got the $$$ for the pettit but i think im gonna save up for the PFC. one, the pettit is a stock ecu (if u get it new they take urs and mod it) and once u got it thats it u cant tune at all but there are much more possibilities with the apex i. wither way i gotta wait a little longer to get it but all good things come with time

I think MazdaMike is on the money .. save a bit more and get the PFC, then when you're ready for the next upgrade get the DataLogit, plug in your laptop and then you can tune 'til your hearts content.
