I have my motor torn down and think I want to install a set of stock 850's in the pri fuel rail. I know tons of people have done it but I'm not sure how many PFC owners have done it.
What is the concensus on this? Will it badly affect driveability without some major tuning? How hard is it to tune or if I just plug in 850's in the PFC will all be good?
Thanks,
STEPHEN

I've seen 3 FD's that have 850 cc in the primary's and none of their idle's are bad at all. We had to shave about half a millimeter on the top of the injector holder for them to seat right though.

So do you need anything other then the 2 secondary injectors?

Yes, use a upgraded fuel pump. You want more fuel, right?
I did this and found that while letting you're car sit the injectors tend to leak somewhat causing you're car not to start very easily....I took them out and upgraded my 550's to 950's.

What did you do? Shave the seats or add a washer?
If you don't do either...they will leak and cause hard starting.
Same here...The consensus is that RC engineering is CRAP. Taking too long to send injectors/not sending them at all, etc.
???
Don't forget to believe none of what you hear and half of what you see. I have never heard of a customer complaining about RC, or any of the other major FI service places. When you read a complaint consider the source.

??!!
How? Its not that hard to figure out if the secondaries aren't working. Most people who install them forget to test them before installation, so some stick closed but in order to blow your motor you'd have to be pretty silly.

I figure when I need more fuel I'll go with 2 Bosch 1600s for less than $140, and a fuel rail for around $220. Keep the 850s in the primaries. That some day will be a ways off...when the stock turbos need replaced(fingers crossed).

I DID consider the source. That is why I made this statement. Not from personal experience, but from people who I deal with on a day to day basis i.e. the friends I have here. They have ordered parts from SO many places in the states that we have come to a consensus who ships parts out quickly, who is consumer friendly, and who is not. Summit racing, K2RD have had good track records with me, and I always get my stuff on time or faster than I expected. But when two of my friends send injectors to RC and they either don't get them back or RC says that they never received them, makes me wonder. Could be as simple as sending them an E-mail and no one responding for 3 days
You guys are old enough to know that vendors have good and bad to them. Go start a thread in the lounge about it.
Back on topic, if I were buying a set of 850cc for primary use, why not send them off and have them cleaned before you put them in? I bought mine cleaned, with paperwork (thanks again Chuck!)
Actually, If I had it to do over again, I would have bought the 1600s and the fuel railto begin with. Back then that was too expensive to consider. Seems like there are alot more choices in rails and the inj prices have dropped (past 24 months.)
Just connect them to 12v and make sure you hear a loud click. DO NOT keep voltage running through them for an extended period of time as this is equivalent to running 100% duty cycle. When the injector is oper you may spray them with some gumout to remove any sticky residue after getting them back from a fuel injection shop!

I just did this and it runs really rich. I reset the pfc to 850cc and inj pulse correction to 64.5 like it says in the manual. Starts good so I don't think it's leaking(did the o-ring setup) any ideas?
