Car won't start help

Hey...i think my s5 fc vert hates me or seriously wants me to dish out money that i don't have at the moment.....ok lets start from the begining but short story mode

First i bought this fc vert non running, i was told that the previous owner had messed with the distributor on it that's why it won't run ( i know there is no distributor)

Got the car home and after a few weeks of checking things out on it my dad replaced the trailing coil and it started up....lots of smoke came with it but he cut it off before letting the smoke clear some

since then havent been able to get it started.....and i've bought a different ecu, new spark plugs (even though it already had new ones), new plug wires.

just today i finished spending all day soldering in new connectors for the ecu since the ones that were on it had some oxidization on some of the plugs.....even then no start....

I have not been getting a spark......i have not checked for spark after i installed the new connectors but will be checking that tomorrow along with other advice that i get on here

the car has been sitting for about 2 1/2 years.....car will crank over but just won't start

i checked all the wiring in the car and all of it seemed to be in good condition other than the connectors that plug in the ecu

Well, if the car is getting spark and still not turning over, the next logical step would be to check your fuel system. Check out the FSM to learn how to do it.
