turbo baffle plate(one behind front cover)

doing a na to turbo build. i read most of aaroncake's info on his site and read a couple write ups and was a little confused about some thing. one writeup states that you need to remove the front cover and install a baffle plate by the oil pump saying it was a nessesary part. however i cant find anything else about them. any info whould be nice.

The s4 turbo oil drain comes in right beside where the oil pump's drive chain/sprocket are spinning. When a chain in an oilbath spins, it slings off a shitload of oil in all directions. Since turbos require free drainage of their oil, and the outlet of this drain is right beside the chain, drainage could become an issue. So, mazda put a plate right between the chain and the oil drain...it is a thin piece of metal that bolts onto the 2 bolts on that side of the oil pump and keeps the oil slinging from affecting the oil drain.

The s5 turbo front covers moved the oil drain further out in front of the pump (to accomodate the larger electric OMP) and do not need this plate.
