Lightbulb Solving all the Questions

Hey Guys, I was thinking about all the new cheaper things that we wonder about. Like from companies like OBX and other cheap aftermarket or even expensive aftermarket stuff(more expensive isn't always better).
Anyway, What I was thinking was, Maybe the Mods could get together and Open a new Thread in the forum about Testing new stuff. Right now the question of the week is whether or not the OBX Diff is any good. Well Most of us would like to modify our cars cheaply and when option arise, we tend to always wonder if that part was any good or not, even though we just spent 2grand on a clutch.

What i propose is that what ever part is bugging people, we do something like a group buy, but everyone chips in and make up the money to buy the part. Now this only would go for people who are interested in a particular part and willing to put in 1 or even 10 dollars to find out whether or not the part is actually worth while.

I personally would spend a very small bit of money to find out if a part is good or not, rather than spending hundreds to find out it's full of crap.

I Figure if we could start a test forum where a trusted admin would hold the financial accounts for each survey. Then we could have a particular individual test it out, Whether a shop or private person, but someone who would be fair and put it throught tests that are relivant to finding out if the product is good/bad and also give detail results to these test.

We do have a few guys that I think would do this for the sake and love for rotaries.
I understand that there are parts that can just be bought and if it doesn't work out, then a lost is nothing, because it was so cheap. But I know alot of people who have question and would like test results and professional sceptism before spending big money, expecially those who live outside the US and pay tons for shipping and can't return a product easily without a significant lost. Like myself

Guys, Please chime in, all opinions should be heard, this can be a good thing. I would rather spend a dollar to find out if a product is good than spend a hundred.

Hopefully, Admin will think about this, because something like this can Help the Rx community Grow and reach further by coming togther for everyones benifit.

And for you rich kid's.... Bug off. Just Joking.lol

BTW, For vendors I think this is a good thing expecially when you have group buys going on with a particular item that was tested. You have good info, factual info to back something you are selling(Vendors shouldn't test and relate info about their own product)
Hence, people would have no don't on what they are buying .

So here we go, shoot awa guys, it's

Keith

I like the sound of this however I think it can be done better. I think we could get certain parts nearly free for testing from companies that believe in their product. The first step would be to get the admins on board. The second would be to find qualified, trusted, and impartial testers (shop could not be selling similar product etc.) After everything is set up the next step would be for a person interested in a product to contact the manufacturer of the product and offer them a means to increase product awarenes by allowing the purchase of 1 item to be tested at their actual cost of manufacturing so that they dont lose anything. The next step would be (if the manufacturer agrees) to have the admin rep contact the manufacturer so that the admin reps are not spending a lot of their own time on trying to arrange for products to be tested. Then the purchase. After a few items are in we could possibly get competitors of the items to GIVE products for testing to do a head to head comparison.
Thats enough someone elses turn.
