Yes, you can over-rev a rotary. You won't have rods warping or valves dropping (obviously), but the assembly is only balanced so well. Also fuel & spark delivery and turbo efficiency may suffer with potential catastrophic issues.

I say 30k RPM before anything goes wrong. Rotary just spins and spins. If you go over 40k, you can hit warp speed, in 5th gear.

You can't overrev a rotary with the throttle. The rev limiter is robust and the engine doesn't care how much you rev it all the way up to redline.

It's possible to overrev it by downshifting with the car moving. The few times I've seen it happen it had no damage, but there is certainly a limit.

Any engine or motor can be damaged or destroyed by over revving. Most companies use rev limiters to prevent it from happening.

u guys are ghey soemtimes lol

one thing that can happen when you over rev from a money shift .. you can cause the rotor gears to start to float away unevenly within the rotor and that may cause your rotor gear teeth to shatter ( goodbye entire lubrication system .. cooler .. turos .. etc ) rotor to smash around the housings and iron .. so ... you can destroy everything ... with a proper money shift over rev

however .. when you rev it with a proper rev limite .. ~ 8.5 K or so ... and you have good bearings , proper lubrication and cooling... no problem
