FC3S: S4 front lip (Modified 626 lip) Group Interest!
Alright guys,
Just got off the phone w/ Ken from Shine Auto Project and he said that if there is enough people (@ least 15) then we could hopefully make the step towards producing a lip similar to mine. Mine is kind of a Frankenstein version of the 90's Mazda 626 lip and I know some of you would like a front lip for your S4. There aren't that many choices out there so if this interests you enough to commit, then sign up!
To the Shine rep on here:
My lip is kind of an experiment as some holes were drilled to line up w/ the FC bumper and others didn't get used. It was molded together in one piece as it was a 2 piece lip in the beginning and was about 1.5" too short on both sides. We made extensions and then fiber glassed them to the 626 lip so it would sit flush w/ FC fenders. It also needs some pulling to line up correctly as the FC is a little wider on the ends than the 626. It's hard to explain but if one were to try and mount it you'd figure it out pretty quick. It's no big deal... just something out of my ball field to overcome and make a product that fit perfectly from molds.
Ken was saying that you guys would need an S4 to mock it up on and I completely agree. I have holes drilled underneath that lining up the correct ones is confusing and I guess if there was a final product of mine, one set of holes would have to line up correctly w/ the S4 bumper and fenders.
Here it is originally w/ the split in the middle and it being too short on the ends (Pretty much the bone 626 lip just pulled and drilled to mount on my TII):
and here it is after we fiber glassed it into one piece and extended the ends. It still needs to be stretched out to meet the curves of the FC bumper but if an S4 were used to mock it up on then I guess this issue could be resolved w/ someone who is capable. Also the holes... drilling the correct ones so it's lined up every time.
So if this interests you enough to commit then please sign up. I know there isn't that much out there lip wise for S4's but I think this looks pretty sweet and would love to see a professional finished product out there available for S4 guys!

I like the looks of the 626 lip better then the s13 "pignose" lip that some people fit to the s4 bumper. Count me in as "interested".

$150? Are you serious? I was hoping for around $30 without shipping. I was super interested until I heard that price, and I was about to offer up my car for the lip mockup since I live less than 10 miles away from Shine Auto.

haha they are right about the lip only being 7 bucks. But the price is somewhat reasonable. Most lips range in that price range.. its just you know the typical s4 owner... broke as usual. Haha well atleast I am. Im prolly just going to do the same and fiberglass mine to fit properly

I for one would want a single molded piece that fits perfect and is available to those who want it. I was thinking having a lip that fit perfect and was all one material would be nice. If you are not interested then don't sign up. Simply enough eh? $150 isn't that much but I can see your point if you are content w/ rocking the bare 626 lip. Just kind of irritating cluttering an Interest thread w/ reasons why you don't want it, etc.

My reasons weren't intended to proclaim my disgust but rather voicing my opinion in hopes of a change. Sorry if I came off the wrong way. Either way I think this lip would look great on an s4 and I would love to have one for my car.

Absolutely Gorgeous turbo II FC. That lip makes it look even cleaner. I converted my S4 with a S5 rear/front bumper. Plus the s5 tails. Damn, i would've said count me in. $150 is not bad. I'm sure $100-110+ shipping would attract a lot more buyers though.

Pretty interested, as long as it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg, and for a college student, that is a very small amount... oh and i hope shipping drops for hawaii for this.
