Hi, i just started mounting the second of 2 cf lips me and a mate bought for our cars, his fit almost perfectly, mine however, it looks to be of very poor quality, and the fitment is simply horrible, there must have been some kind of manufacture accident on this one, its wavy as F*** and crocked, its of by almost 4" on the right side, so there is no way i can use it, if i force it on its going to snap(+its 1cm to narrow)
what happened?
please respond asap

and im aware my 99 bumper looks a bit fucked up (it visited a sandtrap at a track) but its completely straight, my oem lip fits perfectly

Kindof. They'll take care of you if you get their attention. Keep trying and have a little patience, I know it's frustrating.
What if you could bend it? With some heat you should be able to coerce it slowly into place.

The 99 spec lip is curvy by design. It is not defectively wavy. There are almost no flat spots in the design of the lip. Your bumper seems to be force mounted in some way on the bottom. Please remove the bumper from your car and then see if you can properly attach it to the lip. If you can properly attach it to the lip, then place it back on the car. If you are mounting the bumper in unconventional ways, you are altering the shape of the bumper as well. Keep in mind the original 99 spec lip, is a two piece urethane lip (split in the middle), which can be easily flexed, even to a bumper which is improperly mounted.

Try that first.

uhm......what? the bumper is mounted stock, it fits stock
the lip is not uniform in shape, look at the pictures. its uneven, it has nothing to do with the "intended shape" and its of by 10cm, that is waaay to much just to be my fitment error.
my car does neither have front damage or a crooked frame

10cm seems like way too much variance to be defective. Things come out of a mold so like an exhaust made from a jig, they're uniform each time. Like Ken said, try mounting it to the bumper with it off the car and see if it fits better. If it doesn't at this point, then a solution can be sought after that. That is why he said "try that first"

You yourself said that you went off track so maybe there is a slight chance something got moved around a bit. I'm not taking sides, just saying to explore all possibilities and suggestions before shipping things back and forth which can get costly and waste some time.

mold making is a uniform process? these are epoxy parts, leaving them in the sun laid out incorrectly could cause them to warp and cure so that the part would be rendered useless. i would like to believe that shineauto checks every part before it leaves but the reality is i doubt most shops do. the part may have been warped in shipping as well, depending on how it is packaged.

personally i can picture the part being the culprit much easier than the car/bumper, the wheel to bumper gaps alone would be so easily pinpointed that it shouldn't even be a question why the bumper is 4" off the lip... however, if they wanted to verify they could try test fitting it to another FD or checking the lip against the other one they installed and take pictures of the variance there.

you should remove the skin then mount the lip, start from the middle. is this oem 99 or after market?
