IT'S ABOUT RESPECT!

I'm sure the Japanese rotary engineers love being disrepected. I'm ashamed.

I'm not forgetting how the V8 guys made such a scene leaving 3 hours early last year...you guys were azzholes...getting in a standoff with the organizers.

I'm pretty laid back but that crap is lame...you know the rules, if you park in the lot you stay til 5 pm...or leave the spot open for a rotary car.

You keep pushing it...FLAUNTING what you perceive is some cool outlaw superiority.

Bern, IF YOU CAPITULATE...TELL THEM TO KEEP THEIR HOODS SHUT...that's the least they can do...otherwise they're just about dissin' us.

LOSERS

I'm Corvette guy too, '67 427, but I don't force myself where I don't belong.

I have an old event poster that emphasizes " no pistons"...

Bernie...maybe you weren't down at their grand exit but it was UGLY!...MOVING CONES AND RUNNING UP ON THE REDSHIRTS ANKLES WITH THEIR SPOILERS.

Start your own non rotary RX club...oh that's right, you have one.

Screw the politically correct crap, this is an event for wankel lovers, not *******.

Sorry...you DON'T belong, keep your smug azz out of there.

98% of the people there do not appreciate you being there...the other 2% shouldn't be there.

I bought my first new RX3 in 1973 so you can ban me for sticking up to the "can't we all get along" crowd.

Bern if you let them in, then DEMAND they keep their HOODS CLOSED...if they don't comply to that request...well it's called RESPECT.

OTHERWISE IT'S ALL ABOUT BEING IN OUR FACE.

SS13 I ask you to not DISRESPECT the Mazda ROTARY ENGINEERS and ALL THE DEDICATED ROTARY LOVERS that WAIT ALL YEAR FOR THE ONLY ALL ROTARY BBQ...grow a pair!

To you V8 guys, IT' NOT ABOUT YOU.

this would be my 1st SS event to participate in and i will be proud to be a part of it, why would what i have in my car offend you to be so rude and disrespectful to a fellow 7 owner? so what if i dont have the luxury of keeping my rotary like you? props to you bro. i love your car and everything it stands for, and i wont mind if you want to come over to my car and down talk it for the entire event. i wont argue with you, i wont try and stop you, but i will not stop showing my support and not go just because you dont like what i chose to do with my car. its still a mazda, its still an FD, and no one will demand my hood be closed no more than i can demand you to keep your mouth shut about the whole deal. agree to disagree but i say the more sevens that can show up the better, regardless of whats under the hood.

I have no clue why marcus and I are getting grouped in with these other ******* v8 guys, maybe we are guilty by association? You do know these are just cars right? A fd is a fd regardless of what's in it. You say its lost its soul I say I gave it life and reliability. Enough said can't wait to meet everyone.

Marcus...

I'll respond before anyone else does to you...

You make all my points about respect.

WE ARE HONORING THE ROTOR MOTOR...not the 7.

It's nothing personal, so you shouldn't take it that way, you're just way outta line.

Your first event...duh!

IT'S A ROTARY EVENT, A ROTARY CLUB, NOT A "7" EVENT OR V8 EVENT...Quit trying to use semantics or excuses why YOU should be welcomed with your hood open.

The sign reads Sevenstock 6, the sixth year...not Mazda 6

The other sign reads Sevenstock 8, the eigth year.

Mazda 6s are there but they aren't allowed in the show area, neither are Miatas, etc...they park outside in another lot. You are welcome to park there, then walk in and show "your love" to the Mazdas inside with rotary power.

Mazda shows some of their new models, but they show their respect by having them off to the side.

You're NOT showing any kind of support for rotaries or Mazda...your car is NOT an RX7 anymore...it's NOT a rotary...DON'T YOU GET IT?

The Japanese are all about respect...did you see the engineers I pictured? Do you think they will welcome you when you show up with you small block Chevy in a car that was solely developed to showcase 50 years of blood, sweat and tears and engineering to further rotary engineering?

The policy is if you sneak in with your V8...YOU KEEP YOUR HOOD SHUT!

I didn't make the rules, and Bernie has mellowed trying to make everybody happy and "welcome"...but understand you're in the less than 1% club, try taking your FD to an all Chevy show...they won't be so polite.

I shouldn't HAVE to go over to you and you V87 and "talk down to you all day"...and "no one can demand I shut my hood"

That's the arrogance I'm talking about.

They don't let Miatas in, they don't let ANY piston engines in.

So the name says "Sevenstock13" ...but it's not a 7 show...it's an ALL ROTARY SHOW...that doesn't mean your 7 is eligible.

I know of many, many show goers that don't bring their projects because "they're not quite done til next year"...then they wish they would have driven in anyway. Why don't you wait until you get a nice 3 rotor?

DON'T YOU GET IT? It's not a V8 show, we're HONORING the ROTOR MOTOR...not your FD.

You don't need to take it personal...THERE IS A V87 CLUB FOR YOU...take it there. You'll all get along just fine.

not making excuses, "no pistons?!" asked kindly and bern confirmed we are welcome. it is asked that everyone be cool, im perfectly fine with people not liking a v8 in my car for whatever reason, and i wont argue with that here or at the event. with that said if you dont like it why dont you just be "cool" about it.

well, if they were all about respect, then im pretty sure they wouldnt mind. in fact, have you even been to japan? i know i have, and the locals around okinawa always talk about chevy's. its besides the point but i dont know how you can illustrate japanese being all about respect and then imply they will be unwelcoming in the same sentence.

no such policy has been expressed or implied, and i think you are missinformed about a chevy show, as they make and sell crate motors for the masses and are well aware that the motor can show up in anything.

i think your arrogance comment is misdirected. and about my 7 not being eligible:

my focus will be RE all day. anyway, i believe we already have event organizers permission to show up as long as we're cool about it. i dont see a point in dragging this thread down over a debate that wont end. i have already stated i agree to disagree, and i cant wait to see some fellow 7s at this event.

Seems like you're the one taking it personal, calm down please. The motor doea not make a fd a fd itita a cahsie. Why do you care so much? Why would I want a 3 rotor when the stock one doesn't do what I need it to do? Be open minded we arnt gonna be there to rain on your parade. Have a good time and just respect other people decisions with their mazda. If you break down ill give you a ride home lol jk jk.

No, I'm not missinformed. YOU learn some history.

No, these proud Japanese rotary pioneers are being exalted, honored and revered at this yearly ALL ROTARY EVENT.

I have 3 YEARS total in JAPAN, including a year in Okinawa when the first RX2 went on sale, and the first 240Z.

I always wanted a V8 Z car before I got my '73 RX3 and waited 8 years for an RX7

But I wouldn't take a Scarab to an all Chevy meet.

I pointed out where you were wrong but you can keep whining...

Bern said you could come and be welcome..."but be cool"

Translated that means keeping your hood shut...you will be asked nicely.

Why wouldn't you comply...unless it is SO important for you to show off at someone elses party? Why spoil it for others?

I'm speaking for myself and not Bernie or other club members...I'm a lone wolf.

READ THE SIGN...HAVE SOME RESPECT DUDE...GET A CLUE

What part of "NO PISTONS" DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?

I know exactly where you're coming from...and it ain't rotary love...you're just trying to get your kicks by being renegade.

dude, who are you to tell me what i should learn and tell me how i should interpret "be cool". if bert wants to translate that for me as "keep your hood closed" then, hes a grown man, let him speak. do practice what you preach and speak for yourself, and only yourself.

if an event coordinator tells me i should close my hood because its causing a disturbance or hurting the meet in anyway ill do so, until then, get out of my face dude.

and dont act like you know me or where im coming from, i still have my rotary, and i have another fd that has its rotary motor in it, but does not run, ive rebuilt them and owned it just like anyone else, so dont imply your idiosyncrasies onto me. no one is whining here except you, if you dont like it, look the other way. i warn you though, it will be hard for you to do so, as i still have my rotary under the hood.

GUYS... please relax on the V8 issue. We welcome/tolerate V8 converted RXs, but we please ask all V8/Piston conversion owners that they respect SevenStock as a SHOWCASE and CELEBRATION of the ROTARY ENGINE, something that MAZDA supports and pays for. The So-Cal RX Club and the factory do not fancy folks telling others at the event how much the RE sucks... and how much more superior and smart they are/were for doing a swap... before anyone argues, it has happened... and they were talking to one of the top Mazda engineers.

Yes, there have been some V8 and RX guys with bad attitudes and issues in the past, including last year... but we hope that we can finally get over it this year. We are not lumping everyone together here... just letting you all know that there have been issues... and you like some have said, "it is your car and you can do anything you want to it"... there should be no issues or drama from my or anyone elses part... but please respect that this OUR event and party, and we can do and invite whoever we want, and there should be no drama or hurt feelings on anyone elses part either. At the moment we still welcome the conversions.

I appreciate all forms of engineering, especially in the field of engine development. That is the main reason why I'm becoming a mechanical engineer.

I would love to, at some point in my life, own a rotary engine in something. I will not half *** it though...when I have the time, resources, knowledge, and desire to proceed with a project I will.

For now, I'm building an LS2 in a '94 rx7 chassis (is that politically correct enough for you?).

RB Rx7. You seem to have quite a misunderstanding about the people who have swapped their rx7. You seem to think that just because the owner swapped the car means that they must hate the rotary engine. This is not true a good portion of the time.

It sucks that you had some poor experiences in the past with some jackass owners. However, there is no reason to lump everyone together and assume we all act the same.

OK, Bern...I'll relax

But I want to know if it is hood open or hood shut?

I don't think it is too much to ask...

There should be absolutely no problem or objection to that?

If they squawk...then there's your answer.

Are they proud of their Mazda or proud of their V8s?

How about being proud of both, i absoulutely love the engineering and design that went into my fd chassis but choose to use a drivetrain that suites my needs better.

before i type this, this is not an attack, its a question

if it is a rotary event and not a 7 event, would rotary powered vehicles that are not 7s be allowed in the main area? like a REPU, rotary hot rod or lotus 7?? I am considering building a rotary powered hot rod or lotus after my V87 is finished and would love to eventually make this event

It comes down to respect, from both sides. Isn't the event called SEVEN STOCK and not Rotary Stock? We are all rx7 enthusiastic, some of us just have different wants, needs from their car.

This is a argument we cant win. Lets just go and show the haters how respectfull and cool we can be. Its the only way, once they meet us talk with us they will find out we are nice guys and maybe just maybe end the drama that is v8 vs rotary. Rb rx7 let me be the first to invite you to hang out with us and have some soda and a **** ton of laughs. Would be awsome if they had a dyno at the event.. bern you have been great dealing with the whole situation, sorry if it caused you any grief.
On a different note what color shoild I re paint my car ferrari red or white?

Bern - Well spoken, great attitude. I hope you have the best Sevenstock yet.

RB RX7 - You are a tool. Your attitude is embarassing to me as a rotary owner.

PHOENIX 6.0 SEZ:

Phoenix 6.0...

Speaking for myself, and being at 8 events, we love rotary powered swaps.

There have been many, many cool ROTARY POWERED SWAPS.

That's because it's a ROTARY EVENT.

I've been involved in swapping Bugs, Bugeyes, 510s, Europas, Miatas, Beck Spyders, TR7s, 914s, Ralts, even 320i and Vegas

You other guys even know what RX stands for?

Miatas, Bugeyes, Porsches, Bugs, Bajas, 510s...at Sevenstock these are interesting, and celebrate what rotary power would have been like if other manufacturers had the tenacity of Mazda and worked on it's developement.

But NO, Chevrolet gave up on my dream vehicle, the 4 rotor Corvette, and instead conspired to kill off the new tech. Even Ford who owned much of Mazda did it's best to stifle RE developement.

You see guys, with your Chevys...this is old and tired, nothing new here.

I'm going on almost 40 years of dealing with you smart azzes and your excuses about what suits your needs.

Fine, build you dreamcars...but don't bring them to our house and whine when the rotor heads don't want to see your hoods open.

And stop with the "why don't they call it Rotorstock?"

Try reading post #66 and 67 again.

Here's a few quotes:

(Edited your lame quotes)
