Bernie,
I signed up for the track day on Saturday but I am in an Audi S4 Wagon. I know it is supposed to be an all Mazda day since the event organizer contacted me. I am hoping you can make an exception for a big rotard who hasn't missed a Sevenstock since number five or six. I just don't have a running rotary powered vehicle at this point. I do have project well underway though

Thanks for the response Bernie.
I will hold onto the track day slot I've already paid for in hope that the slight window can accommodate me unless you recommend that I go ahead and cancel at this point. I am coming to SS either way, just want to know if I should throw the jack and track pads in the car before i go.

Crap I have to install my oil cooler(s). So what kind of speeds are you guys getting on this track with street tires and 300-400 whp, 2800-3000 lbs wet (no driver)? Every thing I read about it says it's "fast". I've seen some pretty nutty vids but you can never tell how fast they are going. I just hope everyone's brakes and engine fluids are ready to get hot.

holy moly no thanks dude, that's way too fast and I probably need another 100 hp or take a few hundred pounds out of the car to do that... but I don't have a cage and uber-brakes and that's way too fast to be going in a tiny *** FD with two people in it and no safety stuff. I would love to give you a ride but I hear the only guys allowed to give rides are the mazdatrix/race car guys oh well, I'll touch base with you at the event, we can goof around outside of the track, just drive around the block

we're getting REALLY close to selling out the remaining track spots for SevenStock 15 so if you've ever wanted to track your car or have tracked your RX-7 in the past, don't get left out!
It honestly might be another 15 years before we do another track event, if EVER.

One other thing all track participants should be aware of too: you don't have to max out the car and beat on it 100% of the time. Not everyone is going to have a car prepared for the demands of that kind of driving.
Me, for example: I already know I'm going to have an oil temp issue and possibly a secondary water temp issue. All you have to do is keep an eye on the temps and drive accordingly. Take a cooldown lap if you have to, just keep it in a higher gear and keep RPMs down for a fraction (say 1/4 to 1/2 or even a whole) of a lap.
I'm out to have a good time, not to turn the fastest lap. Given that this track looks very fast I think it would be a good idea to chill out a little unless you want top honors

That's me man! orignal paint, original dents, zero body filler, near stock, 158K on the original 12A and a 27 year old FB. Can you see the smile in my Helmet? I can see their longing eyes from the sidelines. I will likely be the slowest car out there, but I'll be having as much fun. No worries if I end up in the ditch. No trailer queen here. If she can still get me home at the end of the day, all the better.
