SevenStock 15 - Feedback Request

Alright guys, now that we've all had a few days to digest the event, go through pictures, catch up on sleep, etc, the SS Organizers and I would like to hear from You.

What did you like best from SS?
Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
Thoughts on the Venue?
What went well?
Did you enjoy the caravan?
What could have gone better?
Did you track? If so, how was that experience?
Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

At the end of the day, all of our hard work is so that we can put on an excellent event for all of You so we want to hear your thoughts on how we did.

**prepares with flame suit nearby in case this gets ugly** Either way, be honest please

I liked the fact that you had it at a track, the caravan to the event was great too. Nice drive towards the event to enjoy your Rotary pre-show.

Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
This ranks higher since it was more performance based, motivation for those who will be returning next year to get their cars ready *assuming you have it Willow again*

Thoughts on the Venue?
The music being played in the car-staging area sucked, the MC/DJ was kinda weak. I know kids are present and the music has to be "family friendly", but still...better selection could have been provided.

Did you enjoy the caravan?
Very much so.

What could have gone better?
More food selection, drinks...maybe some taco-trucks there would be great!!!

Did you track? If so, how was that experience?
Did not track, but getting my car together now so I can next Sevenstock. IT MUST BE AT WILLOW SPRINGS AGAIN

i hope u guys made some kind of funding for next year on the entrance fee, it should have been per car not per person.they made a killing!!! even on major track days i dont think they get a huge volume of people in there like that. it was a good day all in all, the caravan was awesome!

Thanks for the input everyone. If we do it @ WSIR next year, the SevenStock Crew with more experience, will definitely be handling Venue negotiations.

This was a 1 time collaboration with MazFest and it turned out very well.

BTW, if you need a SevenStock15 shirt, we're doing reprints to pay for those tents we rented!! Help us out!!

Cool best SS ever :)

What did you like best from SS?
Having the two four rotor cars on the TRACK tearing it up, chasing each other... was just incredible. We need to really thank those folks who made that happen, how often are you going to see that in person!!!!! What a treat. Holy hell they sounded so amazing.

Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
Best SS ever. Period.

Thoughts on the Venue?
Was great. Only thing I would change is decrease the temperature about 30* :p

Did you enjoy the caravan?
Didn't go. Wish I coulda. Tried to avoid CARMEGEDDON :p

What could have gone better?
An event schedule/program before the event lol. For the people driving on the track that day, it was hard to know what was going on (raffle, trophy handouts, etc.) since we were pre-occupied with... driving.

Did you track? If so, how was that experience?
Yea, drove that day. It was great... minus the many drivers in the "blue" group. Way too many people there to get a clean lap in. Also a bunch of guys were not going by the passing rules as mentioned in the driver's meeting!!!!! Passing was only supposed to happen on the two straights. There were several cars trying to overtake in corners, not safe for the "blue" group! This is the fault of the drivers not the organizers, as they made it crystal clear in our driver's meeting!

The Friday night event! Thanks so much for the Claim Jumper event. Since SS is usually close to home I never do the hotel thing, I will from now on. For genuinely meeting other rotorheads that's the best part IMO. I wish we didn't have to leave early to sleep for the track part Saturday.

Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
That's a toughie, I loved having the option to do track. However in doing so I missed out on much of Sevenstock. I barely made it over to purchase a t-shirt and completely missed out on the raffle and awards. Those last two have always been a fun part of the show, and I assume biggest money $$. When I had time to go buy raffle tickets, I heard it was already over Were raffle tickets sold Friday night? That might also be a good place to start selling them.

Thoughts on the Venue? Nothing will replace the Irvine locations. More shade. The track area was crammed. The good part of being in BFE is not having to worry about POPO for sillyness.

What went well? Seeing the race cars on the track! Entry into the event was not bad all considered. Extreme Speed were great people. The hotel.

Did you enjoy the caravan? completely missed it

What could have gone better? IMO I would try to arrange the next SS around a Extreme Speed Sunday event. That way the first day is all SS and the next those who want to track can the next day. They do not have to be in the same same location, but if SS was relatively close to a track that could work. Heck Pomona and Calispeedway are close together.
I have done that independently for Mazfest before (Mazfest Saturday at Calispeedway, Sunday track at Calispeedway). There were at least nine of us that did that that weekend and I felt like I got to enjoy the events fully. Plus if you aren't racing the second day you can still come and chat it up and watch the other drivers.

Did you track? If so, how was that experience? Track was awesome. I have never done Willow Springs, its a great venue. Despite all the traffic in the blue group I did have a good time. People were spinning out many times. It was nice to see people having fun.

In doing the track event from the time the event starts until about 12pm everything is a blur. You have meetings to attend, set up your area, get crap out of your car, make sure the car is ready to go with fluids and tire pressure, things to pick up from the office, and get your first session in. Anything going on in the Sevenstock area we are going to miss not by choice.

The pit area was super narrow, many children and chains of people not paying attention could have been a bad accident.

The ride alongs, while fun for people who did not pay for track, was not fun for me. We were told in our morning meeting there were only two places for passing and to allow people to pass by staying on your line and slowing down. If someone wants to pass you they have to wait for a point by, and go around. There were a few times where some RAs passed where ever they wanted and were aggressively trying to push me off my line. Perhaps this could be avoided by not having ridealongs during the blue sessions?

Not able to have passengers. The fun part of Mazfests at Buttonwillow or Calispeedway was being able to have buddies get in your car for a whirl around the track.

Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. I kinda liked having Mazfest and SS together, not sure how they feel. Seems like rotary bombarded the event.

You guys in general did a great job. I am always happy to attend, where it may be. I was impressed with how the Mazfest/SS volunteers kept the track traffic moving smoothly. There were a lot of cars trying to fit down that tiny alley of pit row.

After this experience, I will always do the hotel.

What did you like best from SS?
The fact that it was at a track along with folks tracking their own cars, MAZDA BRINGING OUT THEIR PROFFESIONAL CARS TO THE TRACK, HOLY BRAP!!! Plenty of parking for all cars in the showing area, and room to fit plenty more.

Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
I've only been to one other one and things I've heard from others friends had been to recently, THIS TOPS IT.

Thoughts on the Venue?
I Thought it was great, I would like to see all the vendors in a more rectangle proximity in stead of a giant L shape layout, back tracked a few times and I think I might have missed some things. If the event was scheduled earlier/later in the year (like in April or mid-late October) for cooler temps not just for being at a track but for the vehicles running on it.

What went well?
I think most of the event went fairly smoothly, I would have suggested at the gate entrance or prior, a way of dividing show/track cars from spectator vehicles that are entering (3 lanes into 1 lane for exit) Each lane labeled for its indicated purpose of course, and larger directional signs. I saw a lot of people not knowing which way to go that morning.

Did you enjoy the caravan?
Wasn't a part of it, I like being early to any function I go to, loved seeing 90% of cars go in though. I don't like being in long lines.

What could have gone better?
more cooler date. not so many cars running at the same time ON TRACK, blue group was pretty packed on, maybe Blue 1 and Blue 2 groups except the first time consolidate to get a feel for the track as I had heard

Did you track? If so, how was that experience?
I did not, A friend did though, but I'm prepping for next year hopefully things work out. I thought only mazdas were allowed on track that day??? Saw a few others (lancer, corvette, subi). What about rotary powered cars (engine swaps allowed to be considered for track run) ??? I saw that sort of indy car powered by a rotary.

Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Glad that we were allowed to bring in our ice chest and bring our own food and drinks, but for those who could not, and had to fit tools and tires instead of a chest in the same vechicle had to wait in long lines for lunch (if they wanted to get something to eat). Maybe something more easily accessible and quick grab and pay kind thing. less time waiting in line to grub than socializing and watching event (or tracking)

OVERALL 85% ENJOYABLE AND AWESOME, THE OTHER 15% DUE TO THE HEAT LOL (AND I'M MEXICAN).

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO DID ANYTHING OR EVERYTHING TO MAKE THIS EVENT HAPPEN. FROM THE SWEAT, BLOOD AND TEARS, TO THE HEADACHES AND SUNBURNS OF THE DAY, ALL WAS GREAT, THANK YOU!!!!

What did you like best from SS?
I have to admit that I got a lot of joy from watching the Le Mans cars run; I don't need to see it again at future events, but it had that 'once in a lifetime' feel to it seeing and hearing them on an actual track.

I really enjoyed participating in the caravan from Santa Clarita. It also had that wonderful "this'll probably never happen again" feel to it that makes some experiences stand out in memory for a long time.

It was nice seeing familiar faces & cars again, and some new ones, as always.

Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
This was my 6th SevenStock, - 5, 6, 7, 13, 14, 15 - and I would rank it probably 3rd from the top in order of overall personal enjoyment.

Thoughts on the Venue?
It's a great & famous track, of course, so for the track-oriented folks it was probably excellent. It was nice seeing it again; the last time I'd been out there was in the late 80's, with friends that raced in ITB.

From the standpoint of a someone who's more interested in showing/seeing the cars and meeting people, seeing new stuff & shopping for swag, it was not really ideal. Distant, hot, dusty, unfocused, minimal facilities, no real available shade unless you brought your own.

What went well?
The caravan came off very well considering the number of cars involved.

There was plenty of room to park display cars, so we didn't have to be within door-ding distance of each other which is always good.

It sounded like track operations ran fairly smoothly most of the day, based on announcements.

Seemed like everyone who made the effort to come really wanted to be there; there was a tighter sense of community & less casual whining than has happened in some earlier years. I didn't hear of any flaring tempers or criminal nastiness/stuff vanishing going on this year.

Nobody got hassled for illicitly starting their engines, moving their cars, or got ticketed upon exiting the venue, which is always a plus.

Did you enjoy the caravan?
Quite a lot, yes. I'm usually a "show up early solo" kind of guy, but driving from Chino Hills to Santa Clarita in the company of Hozzman and Sarah-7, then joining in the massive thundering herd from there to the gates was great great fun.

What could have gone better?
Overall you guys did real well, so don't take the length of this part wrong; you asked for honest feedback.

For people not involved in tracking, there seemed to be nothing in the way of organized functions happening. There was no schedule of any events other than track groups that I ever saw. People didn't even seem to know when things were over; cars just started drifting away around 2pm.

One of the highlights of these events for me is the car show; I like participating in them and seeing which cars won, & such, and I spend a lot of time and effort preparing for them. SevenStock's "show" aspect has always been pretty casual, without actually announcing winning cars or owners, or formal registration & such; MazFest's has usually involved more traditional elements like pre-registration (which wasn't announced anywhere on the RX7Club or SevenStock sites but did happen on MOCC's MazFest site), announced categories, and a trophy-award function on the stage at the end of the event. This time around it seemed to just kind of 'happen;' trophies were already placed on some cars long before the announcer stated "judging will begin shortly; get your cars ready." I've no idea what categories were won by which cars outside of the couple I stumbled across with trophies on their dashes. I have to admit that it felt like a waste of time to have made the prep effort to try to participate in a show that didn't really seem to take place.

Part of the problem was that there seemed to be no central gathering point to organize things and make a unified 'event' out of the day, especially since the pit area where the track people had to be was quite far from the 'event' stage. The track sound system constantly overwhelmed the event announcers', which wasn't able to carry much distance at all even within just the 'display car' area.

Was there even a raffle? I spent the bulk of the day only about a hundred feet from the event stage & I couldn't tell you if or when the raffle even happened. It's certain that no one near the pit would have heard any of the event announcements at all. That coupled with a lack of a published schedule left things feeling pretty fragmented, to me. I'd bet good money that the raffle proceeds would have been a lot better if more people actually knew when it was happening & what the prizes were.

The track announcers' constant nagging about EZ-ups wore real thin by the end of the day. Just sayin'.

The waiting line for food/drinks (& gate entry!) was far too long. Add to that, little touches like the first time I waited through the food line (about 30 minutes), I got to the window at 10:50 only to be told "We're not serving lunch until 11:00; breakfast only now... sorry dude." (But the bar was open for business)

Sorry. But you did ask!

Did you track? If so, how was that experience?
No, I didn't.

I'd had some hopes of participating in the 'parade lap', but the requirement for a helmet wasn't communicated until the moment they started calling cars to line up, so that didn't happen. I'd even tried asking about that here, long before the event. Never got an answer.

Overall, I'm still glad I went & I enjoyed the day. It could have been better, but it was still way better than sitting at home!

Mike & Fisa, thanks for the c&c!

Glen,

You know we only have about 10 guys (YES TEN) organizing the event right? haha We really don't have time to organize a REAL car show! Yes, we hand out a couple of Rotor Shaped trophies for a few categories, but we never said there was a car show competition at SevenStock...and it's ALWAYS been that way. You come, and you enjoy the FREE event.

You know how many volunteers we got this year? 2!
George and Charles, thank you guys!!
and a few guys from the AZ crew helped us out in the morning.
I salute you guys! Thx for the hand!

Hey, wow, Andy... I didn't mean to get your feathers ruffled, man. The request was for honest feedback on "what could have gone better" and that's what I gave.

I thought long and hard about commenting, because I didn't want any hurt feelings or to sound like a whiner, & I greatly respect the effort you guys put out to put this show on for us - - always have, even back when I first got to SS5 & didn't know anybody.

But again, the request was for honest feedback. I figured that meant you guys wanted to actually know what was on our minds.

I said that I recognized SevenStock's car show has always been casual, but even the SevenStock.org official page says "This year's event will include the always popular car show and display..."

I guess some of my confusion came from MazFest having had a 'real' (your words) car show each of the times I've gone previous, and this was being billed as the combination of the two events. MazFest was also advertizing the car show, and accepting registrations for it: MazFest 2012 | Official Car Show

I've been a strong supporter of SevenStock for something like a decade now; since I first heard of them (from the guys at Racing Beat) I've been to every one I could attend when my car was street-legal & running, and I've always busted hump to 'bring it' every year, car-wise. I'm sorry my professional and personal life doesn't allow me the time to volunteer my services in helping with the show itself, but I've always done my best to be a reliable attendee and supporter, and to spread the word to get more folks involved. I talk SevenStock up to everyone I meet at local meets and other shows, because I know that without enthusiastic attendees an event can't succeed.

As far as "Wanna help us out some more? Buy a few more tShirts!!!!" goes... Seriously? This year alone I dropped nearly $200 on shirts, lanyards, $20 worth of raffle tickets (for a raffle I missed!) and other trinkets from vendors at the FREE show, not counting what the track got for food and admission, and not counting gas. I have an entire drawer full of SevenStock shirts, going all the way back to SS5. My car prominently features (and my mod list specifically calls out) several items I bought from you guys at Rotary13B1, & I got more key rings than I'll ever use, too.

I deeply apologize if I hurt your or anyone else's feelings for giving the honest feedback y'all specifically asked for... but I gotta admit my own feelings are a bit bent by your suggesting that somehow I'm not 'supportive' enough of the event.

Glen,

It's probably a bit our fault, that page you're referencing on the site hasn't been updated in AGES. The most up to date info get's thrown up on FB because it doesn't involve CSS and html.

Yes, MazFest has a car show, but they didn't have one this year. BTW, where was the MazFest Staff and CREW at? Besides the three at the ride-along area? I'll save that for another day.

Our crew was stretched thin as it was that day, and the way we decide the winners/losers hasn't changed in 8 years. 3 guys volunteer to walk the lines and draw winners. One of our other traditions is not to have the same winner every year. This allows for your up and comers to work harder the next year to show off their work.

I appreciate your honest feedback Glen. THANK YOU for buying $200 worth of SS swag! That goes towards the $4K in tents we rented for the day. ( No BS, those tents are expensive) and THANKS for supporting SevenStock! I know you're a die-hard. I see you at JCCS and SS every year!

- no hurt feelings here, and I hope it's the same for you. But I just want to let people know what it takes for us to put the show on. How many people on the Team, etc.

(I'll bring up this thread on my tablet when we go through SS15 decompression discussion)

Thanks!
-Andy

Divin,

I put up this thread because I truly wanted the honest feedback and I thank you for doing that.
No hurt feelings here at all.
If I didn't want people to be honest (brutally at times) then there wouldn't have been a need for this thread.

Thank you again for those who attended, gave feedback, and as always SUPPORTED this little Rotary get together that we are so fond of.
We will utilize this feedback and other comments received when the SS crew gets together in a few weeks to debrief and when planning for SS 16 begins some time next year.

Thought I'd chime in from a Vendor's perspective.

What did you like best from SS?
The Mazda race-cars running. Huge thank you to Mazda for helping that happen. It was the one point I really broke away from the booth to go watch... I don't think there's an engine on the planet that doesn't sound good at 12k rpms (a guess).

Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
Pretty decent with some better some worse. To be fair, my favorite SevenStocks may be colored by the fact that SS is quite a bit more fun to attend as a guest than as a vendor. Even if you're really proud of your ish, it still feels a bit like working on your day off.

Thoughts on the Venue?
The biggest advantage was the space to spread out and the track day component. The biggest disadvantage was the desert heat and the huge drive to get there (yes it's always in SOMEONES back yard, but that's less likely than in the more populated locations). I really dug that Willow Springs let folks BBQ. Encouraging tailgating is likely the single easiest solution for food lines.

In terms of other places we've been it was substantially more kick back that Mazda corp (though I can see why they'd be especially concerned about liability on their home turf). Pomona was the nicest for shade and pleasant areas to walk around in but anyone who wanted to show and didn't end up inside got offended so that was hard.

The announcer repeatedly mentioning EZ ups and wind did get annoying. Either you brought concrete blocks or you didn't and NO ONE was taking their shade down to present their goods in the sun for fear of a little wind. If this was a serious issue the track should notify Vendors as they enter and have a stack of blocks available so we could grab a couple. (Ronin already had them, but most folks didn't)

I thought getting everyone in and settled was handled well. We had a booth car who followed folks in, and ended up in the wrong place but a few of the Volunteers helped me get him sorted without too much difficulty. I can personally offer a big thanks for being understanding in getting him back where he needed to be. It would have been easy to say screw it and not move him back, but we'd have been pretty bummed not to have a car to show off our new FD widebody with.

Did you enjoy the caravan?
Happened to stop by the Santa Clarita meet point accidentally (we were just looking for breakfast and choose the right exit by chance). Looked fun but caravaning is never an option when you have to set up early. Great chance for a SevenStock video highlight thought. Hell even a designated camera car taking rolling freeway shots would be rad.

What could have gone better?
As others have said, a schedule of events would help. Suggest having the folks handling wrist bans pass out a schedule to each car and post a big one at the main stage. Run the raffle earlier so folks can leave when they need to. Alternatively designate the raffle as vendor pack up time (if the raffle is well announced all the booths are dead anyways, so it makes sense and we're always beat tired by the end of the day).

Did you track? If so, how was that experience?
Would have loved to but A) car is getting a bit upgrade that's not done yet and B) it's just about impossible to be a vendor and partake in other activities.

Any chance Ronin or Lucky 7 or those with company branded cars could set up by the pits? That would be amazing. FWIW, I do think you should push hard to let folks carry passengers. A shared experience makes a track day 10x as much fun. From what I heard from those folks who did run, that was all they did and the rest of the experience was pretty much non-existant. Running with a ton of other Mazda's woud be fun though so I give you props for making it a reality.

Random suggestions:
-Have a couple giant tubs of water and soda on ice with a self service lock box for $1 "on your honor" payments. If we're going some place this hot, easy access to liquid refreshment is key.

-Free sunscreen. There's always some poor gringo like myself who ends up without sunscreen (in my 6? SevenStocks I think I've been without in 2 years). You offered free donuts but a couple of bottles of public burn prevention at the stage would be awesome. It's the kind of detail you could put on a schedule as a note at the bottom.

-Some kind of Vendor hook up is a nice touch to prove you care about us. Whether it's a free lunch or a free shirt, or a key chain it's good to feel loved. Waiving the entry fee was a good start. I'd like to think this is mutually beneficial as having lots of vendors makes your show better. At least for Ronin, coming out as been a labor of love as the show has never been a very effective marketing expense, but it's still good to hang with everyone and be part of the community.

-Passenger's for track day cars and/or an open ride along lane. I mentioned this before but as a reasonably regular track day participant I wouldn't mind carrying random folks as well as friends (provided they've signed all the waivers and I know I'm covered). I've had plenty of times where my car was getting a little hot out there so coming in to the pits every 2-3 laps is no big deal. It's not just about going fast (I have no aspirations of being a professional driver, I make my living with my brain), it's about showing others your labor of love. Frankly the more ride-alongs you can offer the more advantageous tying this into the track day becomes and the more awesome an experience it is for Guests.

-Exhaust contest. Much faster than a dyno contest and everyone gets to at least show off a sliver of what you built in regards to performance. Have each group of cars (RXs by generation, booth cars, old skool... divide it however you see fit) make some noise and have judges pick the top three cars for a popular "cheer off" to see who won. Designate 2:00 pm to have everyone open it up. Would be a ton of fun to hear the whole damn place wind it out at once. We'd all suffocate from the fumes but damn we could make youtube proud.

Oh and that'd be one heck of a dinner bell to tell everyone that the raffle and awards were starting at 2:05 pm.

Really appreciate all the effort the organizers put into this. I know how much work goes into it. FWIW I'd have no issues if you charged $20 a head and EVERYONE got a free shirt and a couple raffle tickets by default. We're all blowing a heck of a lot more than that in transportation and if the event has trouble funding itself entry fees aren't terrible.

What did you like best from SS?
The 4-rotors doing their thing on the track. It's one thing to have them rev a few times, it's better to see them running around.

Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
I've been to SS 11 through 15. This year would be 3rd.

Thoughts on the Venue?
Great improvement over the Fairgrounds, though my first SS was at Mazda HQ so I miss it a bit.

The pit area was narrow, and the requirement (I think it was mentioned somewhere) that cars be backed into their spot tied up traffic flow in and off track a bit.

Foot traffic in the pits worked out OK, I think because everyone knew it was a car/track related event. It did start to clog up a bit when the demo cars hit the track and when lunch came around. No complaints about the restrooms.

What went well?
Track day.

Getting cars and people *into* the venue. It was a lot more organized instead of the no-lane toll-booth that was XIV. I even heard on the radio chatter about speeding up entry for a late track driver. Last year was spent trying to pick out the show cars and send them through rush hour traffic to the show areas.

Did you enjoy the caravan?
Didn't get to join the caravan. Stayed in a different area of SoCal.

What could have gone better?
I didn't get a schedule until I got my gear for track, and many of the people helping their track-going friends didn't know what was happening until I shared mine.

Bought some tickets for the Infamous Raffle, but had to go back on track when they started calling out numbers. I was hoping the raffle would be held towards the end of the event or towards the beginning of lunch.

The constant reminders of the EZ-ups being tied down was understandable but borderline nagging. Maybe that can be integrated into the event description? "Canopies and EZups are welcome but must be tied down due to wind." Another excuse for schedules!

The Yellow Brick Wall. "The wall is lava! Don't touch the lava!" Maybe restrict the cold pit areas to track-goers and crew or put the spots for the pits furthest away from the Wall and make it a traffic lane.

Did you track? If so, how was that experience?
First time driving fast on track, and it was a blast. I apologize to anyone stuck behind the red louvered FC. >_<

I didn't get an instructor but that was understandable since there were so many sign-ups. There were a lot more Blue-group cars on track at the same time, but it seemed to work out OK. No car-to-car contact that I know of.

I did get passed in sections other that what was reviewed in the driver's meeting. Some of the fun was spent wondering if the car following me into turn 2-6 decided to just go "screw this, I'm passing" and if I'll notice in time to make room.

Random Suggestions:
I'd love to see a track day weekend and spread out some of the pack that was Blue Group.

Found out halfway through the day that the announcer could broadcast over FM radio. Use it to supplement the PA system.

Only 10 organizers and a couple volunteers? This year went smoothly considering that.
I also don't have any issues with fees for entry. I can live without some souvenirs if I know they're available through an online store somewhere. I don't know about T-shirts by default, but lanyards maybe.

What did you like best from SS?
Agreed on the Friday night event! Thanks to the SoCal club for hosting this. It was a great way to meet other rotorheads prior to the event. Manytimes in past years when these events were held post-main event many would opt to take off and head home, so pre-event made a ton of sense. Another thing we really enjoyed was having Robert Davis attend SS with his 4-rotor 787. Nice to have a Mazda USA leader at the event sharing HIS passion for rotary power!! Much, MUCH appreciated!!!

Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
Loved the interactive part of the event (i.e., car show, track, vendor areas). Made the day a lot more enjoyable having multiple options throughout the day. I'd have to rank it in my top 2.

Thoughts on the Venue? Good time and great showing for a first-time track event. It was VERY different from R&D, headquarters and the Fairplex, but BETTER in some aspects. I did miss the shade in Irvine and heatwise, a future mid-October date might help change my mind

What went well? Definitely seeing the 4-rotors in action. Also was amazed with the uber-fast silver FB that was flying around the track. Hotel was very accommodating. Might have been better if it were located close to the shopping center where Claim Jumper and most other good resturaunts were located.

Did you enjoy the caravan? Yes, if you're talking the Caravan from Phoenix to LA

What could have gone better? The only piece noticeably lacking this year was the raffle. Just seemed like contributions (number of raffle items) was down considerably from previous years.

Did you track? If so, how was that experience? Nope. Sorry, but may consider it in the future.

Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. Agreed that it was nice having Mazfest and SS together, but quite honestly can't say that I met or interacted with any non-rotary owners. Overall I felt that the SoCal club did a great job transporting the event to Buttonwillow. This was my 11th consecutive year attending the event and I'll be there as long as they continue to hold Sevenstock events.

What did you like best from SS?
A) besides all the rotaries the track events kept it exciting

Where does it rank compared to other SevenStock events you've been to?
A)i have been to 3 others and this was by far superior, due to track day events

Thoughts on the Venue?
A)great track, dont love lancaster/palmdale but what can you do?

What went well?
A) all the rotaries plus the sound of 4 rotors on the track haunts my dreams

Did you enjoy the caravan?
A) I came the day before so no caravan for me but seemed fun

What could have gone better?
A) I wish i had a track car so I could have participated, not willing to risk the repu or sa22c i have

Did you track? If so, how was that experience?
A) sadly no

Thanks so much for everyones efforts, I vow to donate my time next time around, we have a great community of hardcore car lovers and I need to chip in too. Hopefully ill have 3 rotaries to bring next year! Imo the day was excellent, and it will be tough to beat next year. Maybe we could have rental 7s maybe 200$ to track a 1st gen for x amount of laps. Spend 3k per car prepping them and in 15 runs its paid off for next year.
