are most everyone from the upper east side of atlanta? i have only gone to 2 meets and one of the reasons is that it's quite far, i can't image coming from the west side (marietta, etc). i believe you would get an even higher attendance rate if the meeting place was a bit more centralized (say around alpharetta/johns creek) or at least a bit more south of the old location (say pleasant hill area)

I am going to be having fun starting this Thursday. I have to go down to Savannah to do this V
and then down to Brunswick to visit family on Sunday.
Afterwards to Atlanta, then the ogta meet on Tuesday. June is going to be a fun month! Especially turning 21 on the 19th.
On another note does anyone have a passenger side front fender?

That's exactly it, Brett. For the really crafty folks, you can turn left at the first light off the interstate and take the back road (Financial Center Way) parallel to Hwy 20.
Rotary Freak
Sorry about the long drive for you guys from Marietta. But, back in the late 90s and early 2000s, we met WEEKLY near the big chicken in Marietta. It was a long drive for us on the NE side of Atlanta, but we didn't have anything else to do. So, as Brett says, suck it up. Afterall, the rotaries are fun to drive, so Drive them, it's only once a month. And, I also encourage you to start another monthly meet on your side of town, it only takes two to start meeting on a certain day of the month, every month. Then we can drive over there. That's how OGTA got started.
OGTA

Michelle received her new bone marrow yesterday. The next couple of weeks are typically the most difficult, but she is doing well. Not well enough that I would want to trade places with her, but all things considered pretty well.
I am in favor of a new venue for the OGTA meetings. But, I am not in favor of Tilted Kilt. It's just a personal preference.

Greg, you're always right on your instincts, this is worth showing up for:
I'm looking forward to seeing the Maroon One over there in Georgia Mall next Tuesday.
But, if we all get arrested because of the security cameras, just remember: This was an Engineer's idea, not a Scientist's.
Also I've got a Big Surprise for those OGTA's that do happen to make it to the GA Mall parking lot next Tuesday for the June OGTA Meeting.
Bring your checkbooks.

Dudes. Be sure to bring your welding helmets and other solar observationary equipment to the OGTA meeting tomorrow evening.
Venus is going to transit the Sun tomorrow evening, in honor of our June OGTA meet.
This is the first time she's strutted her stuff since June 8, 2004, back in the early days of OGTA. In fact, now that I think of it, there's probably a connection.
(The last Venus transit before 2004 was December 6, 1882, which was the automobile was invented).
She'll start her romp around 6:00 pm tomorrow evening and she'll take a full 6 hours to completely ravish the Solar disc, so we should get some pretty good looks.
This will be the last Venus transit until December 11, 2117, so be sure to check it out.
Brett won't even be around the next time Venus puts on her show, most likely.

I think she'll still make it to Tilted Kilt tonight, but the GSL-SE is sold! Don't worry, she's still in the local family. If anyone needs GSL-SE spares, Seth is your new man.
Congrats Crit, I saw the ebay ad, I figured that would get things going.
Cool. Now I can announce it's official: The Silver One is For Sale too!
She'll be at the Twisted Kilt this evening for all who want to check it out. Also watch for RX-club and Craig's list postings with photos and details in a day or two.
Dean, the last Transit of Venus in your lifetime is happening at the Twisted Kilt this evening, but we need a welding helmet to check it out.
Any chance of the Weldean making it? With the FB and a few welding helmets?
Cathy is going to be there. Any chance of getting Linda to come along? We know how she loves riding in FB's.
