Bonez high flow Cat on an 79 with RB header ??
i have one your hign flow cats on my 89 S5 and like it . My '79 needs the old exhaust system replaced and i was thinking of a RB header and presilencer etc. ..... do you know if I can put the bonez cat in that setup to control emissions ???

Sorry for the slow reply, I'll try to log on a little more often...
Adding a cat converter to a thermal reactor system (used on 79-80 rx7) can be a little tricky. The ACV (air control valve) directs air pump air to one of three locations. The ACV does this in order to control emissions and not overheat the converter. The 79-80 rx7 did not have the correct type of ACV to support a converter. The thermal reactor systems have different requirements.
If you want a converter that can be installed on the car for an emission test along with an air pump and removed for daily driving, that's simple. If you're looking for a permanent, reliable solution, that's a different story. I don't think the converter will last without converting the complete emission control system to 81-> type.
