two step for drag racing

Which, two step are you guy's using on your drag cars?
I want to hook up a two step to my fd but there are a lot out
there, I don't know if some are better than others.
Is there any drawback infitting them, say with stock apex seals, or reduced life of the turbo, type of exhaust system (i.e blowing out baffles?

thanks in advance

Well I think you have a standalone right? If so you should check it to see if it's got some sort of built in 2 step. As far as reducing engine life I don't think it does that but it will reduce the life of your turbo. not sure one exhaust system. Really I'm not a good person to be saying anything cause I'm still in the beginning stages of that but from what I've read this is true.

I have the apexi power fc pro drag ecu, it has a two stage rev limiter but it does not retard timing and create boost when launching, it only cut's ignition so you can launch as a specific rpm.

Interesting I thought there where people out there using the power fc for a 2step. Maybe I'm wrong. Well I'm sure lots of the guys out there are using the msd 2 step with good results. Check out a thread by lupe. he uses it while connecting his trailing coils to a relay. Good luck and let us know what you do. I'm still not sure if I'm going to use the microtech or an msd.

I'm probably killing my car launching off of rev limiter! I have a 2 step built into the datalogit....but it freezes up all the time and I have to short out the datalogit to reset it. Pain in the ***.

Any update on your 2 step? I'm thinking of installing one too but need to know what hardware I need. Too bad my stand alone is fuel only.

Thanks, Ed
