Hey Ernie,
I think we should leave the updates on this thread and not delete them even though the original idea was to keep this thread clean.
Also, the stuff that was recently deleted, anyway to get it back?
Also it looks like when it's deleted the page views change back to 0.

There is a fuel column so the fuel shouldnt determine what section your in.
IRS or Solid should be the only determining factors and then you have columns for the other info like tranny fuel etc.

Some items mentioned were the tranny and methanol. As the top list grew everyone is gasoline and stock trannys. Chris Impey and Timemachines are on full race trannys. Timemachines is also running methanol which takes you into another area. We could add another area too cause I don't think it's fair to put timemachines next to Abel lol but I don't change anything unless someone tells me too
I get PM's about things to change etc so I am now telling everyone to write on the main thread. Ernie will keep it going. I just update stuff so if anyone wants anything changed, just put it on this thread. Remember Im an indian, not a chief lol.

Hey Anthony
Travieso ran on methanol and a haltech E6K ecu.
Builder/tuner--->crispeed.
You don't want my opinion of that!
So cars running on e85 will have to go to the race section also?
Might as well create a section for un tubbed, no chassis modifiction etc. then!

Sections
I think its gonna take at least 10 sections to accommodate everybody, You can have a few different ones in the independent suspension by itself. I say make a official section for the guys who build there cars to run sanction/national events with rules in them and then make a section for all the others.......

If you start using that logic then it wouldnt be fair to have a 20b in there, Nos, modded stock trannys etc.. I think we had it right the first time with IRS|Solid.. the other info stays in the column and you take that into consideration when comparing otherwise there will be to many sections and not enough cars in them. not only that but now its confusing who has solid and who has IRS you would never know Timemachines was IRS by looking at that chart.

my opinion is this.
the idea of seperating calsses was to kind of seperate 'street cars' from race cars.
the irs/solid categories are not the best way to do this. its not as cut and dry as ppl think.
a first gen with a solid ford 8.8 mounted at the factory pick up points that has stock tranny and is streetable should be a street car. that same first gen with a solid ford rear and a full aftermarket 4 link suspension is a race car weather it is driven on the street or not.
what i'm suggesting is this..
cars that have tranny and rear end modifications (of the same stlye as stock irs/solid) in the pursuit of strength and reliability are street cars. examples:
modified trannys for strength (NOT clutchless conversions)
upgraded, or aftermarket rear ends that are of stock type with stock suspension pick-up locations (kazz, cobra 8.8, irs 9" in fc &fd ford 8.8 with factory pick up points in fb ect..)
race cars are cars with trannys or rear ends that are modified not only for strength, but in the pursuit of lowering et, or improving 60' ect. examples:
first gen with aftermarket 4 link
any car with tubs (mini or otherwise)
solid axle in a fc, fd
any clutchless tranny
any tranny that can't reasonably be used on the street (5000rpm lock up converter on autos)
any tranny that can't be downshifted.
i think thats fiair because we all modify our cars and its stupid to say "street cars must be completly stock"(thats the direction this seemed to be headed)
theres lots of us that drag race with non mazda drivetrain parts to avoid breaking parts on street cars. the guys who do it for a faster et at the expense of streetability are driving race cars.

Hey ladies, be glad someone is putting in all the hard work to make this list.. upkeeping this list is no easy task and more "columns" you add will make Anthony's job harder. I say keep it simple, so it's easier to understand and work with.
just my $.02

You know what it is. Racer #1 spends all his life trying to be #1. Racer nobody comes out of no where and sets a record. Now racer #1 instead of accepting racer nobody's record tries to discredit racer nobody because of the type of equipment used to set a record.
What's funny is that the rest of us actually look up to racer nobody's record as a gold set to acheive and beat one day also.
In the end there are no rules for a list. A list is just a list. There are no set classes for a list. There can be guidlines and categories to a point but there are limits to that also.
Every other forum just have a simple list of all the cars no matter what parts are used to set the times.
Keep it simple.

^ 100% agreed!!
This list should be simple. By simple I mean - ET, MPH, Motor, Fuel & Builder/Tuner
If you have a specific question about Racer X time concerning the combination of parts he used to achieve his time, then PM him for more details.
This "simple" method will elminate the need for Anthony to spend hours updating. It will also prevent Racer X from giving out sensitive info in public.
or
Do a simple list like I stated above and if you want to add more details about your car, then reply with you info on this same thread. The thread will serve 2 purpose.
1- host the list on the first page
2. give you the option to post more details about your car or reply to specific questions concerning your time
Don't just think about yourself. Think about the guy who is putting in all the work to make this list possible

What's your take on trannys, every car on the top list has a stock/case tranny in place and could be in any of the "street classes". Forget IRS for a minute, should race tranny's be a separating factor cause we all know if yo drop a gforce tranny in a car you will pick up a 1/2sec to a sec (Ernie excluded) What's your take on that one?
