Im looking into getting an N/A series 4 rx7 with a 13b i was wondering its stats 0-100km and 0-400m and also if i pport it

the 0-100 Km and 0-400m mean nothing unless you define what you want. if nobody answers the questions on performance, then i should be able to get your answers this coming weekend when i go home and can look in my books and magazines.

about your PP question ... what do you want to do with your car when you get it.?

well ive looked into it and figured maybe bridge porting would be the sensible way to go as this will be my daily driver...

To me bridge port, sensible and daily driver don't really go together. But then thats just me. Do much research before you start down the road of bridge porting. There is much more involved than simply porting the engine. You have to consider the proper intake and exhaust. Those two items have to work together or you'll never see the engine do what its capable of. Your rear gear would likely need changed to fully take advantage of the power but then thats true with most N/A applications.

What are your plans for the car? Just a daily driver? Occasional autocross or track events?

It will have to be my daily driver but the standard performance of a N/A 13b wouldnt be good enough so I would have to go the porting route. I figured J porting would be too extreme.

Most forms of bridge porting is more extreme than a peripheral port. Bridgeys usually have a lot more port timing than a P-port because of the lack of available port area. The best bridge port as far as streetable while maintaining good power is concerned would be a J-bridge with delayed intake port opening and early closing. Delayed and early relative to normal bridgeys, that is.


That said, my peripheral port (damn that sounds so nice to say ) won't idle down below 1400, but that's probably a combination of engine not broken in fully yet, strange intake manifold, and carb waaaay too large.

By "idle" I mean you can leave it there without tending it. It *will* idle down at about 600-700rpm (!) but after about six or seven seconds it will just sorta decide to stop running, unless you tap the throttle to keep things going. I bet fuel injection could fix that.

It's not any louder than the stockport. Then again, I didn't make the exhaust ports open earlier than stock, which seems to be the "volume control".

You might also consider a 4.88 or 5.12 rear gear set but first you should get a car.

My knowledge on the whole porting issue. Is well below par im only new to the actual rotary scene. So what types of porting is there? and how extreme and mild are they? Thanx for your help.
