Talking GT350R gets pulled

I was driving to a gas station with the wife to mix with the 101 octane I just put in (since my FD was tuned with 93 octane a few years back) when I see a white GT350R Mustang on the frontage road getting ready to get onto the Interstate. I then see the guy whip out to the left most lane immediately upon getting onto the highway (crossing about 5 lanes in 2 seconds). I recognized the headlights - it was the white GT350R. His headlights were pointed to the moon due to his hard acceleration to catch up with me - seems he saw my FD & wanted to play. Sure enough, he slows way down to ~ 70 mph, gets next to me, downshifts so I can hear his engine (those GT350 V8s sound awesome). Anyway, I downshift to 3rd since he's waiting on me to hit it. After shifting to 4th...he begins to dissipate. By ~ 125 mph, the FD had put ~ 4 cars on him. There was no traffic near us & we had 5 open lanes....I slowed back down & he wanted to go again. Same result ;o) I believe it has 526 Hp & runs a 12.2 quarter....but I think he may have modded it further - it was pretty fast & sounded great....until it was drowned out by my screaming 13B ;o)

Yes....BNR Stage IIIs....but I think running ~ 5 octane too rich, having a passenger, and a night pull with my headlamps up still slowed me just a hair. The FD still pulled him pretty well but I think I'll go single with my next engine build. The technology has advanced so much I think you can get much more power without sacrificing low end spool (which was always a "trade off" in the old days). Anyway, the guy pulled up next to me & had a WTF just happened look on his face when I exited.......I think he thought he was going to mop the floor with his Mustang. I just gave him a thumbs-up & waved.

ya the newer cars all weight over 3800+lbs. RX7s and other older 90s cars have a huge advantage not need as much HP. Good win!!
