Fc road course wheel setup
So I'm on the latter stages of my build and am starting to focus on grip. The fc will be focused on road racing at summit point (I am slowly initiating myself, not in any way an expert at all but like to be prepared to grow). I would like to purchase a wheel set up for growth next year when I go wide fender so I looked into 17x9 +24 17x10+20 mustang reps with 235/40 255/40 set up. I will have roughly 350-400whp but at first plan on keeping the boost very low and power to about 250whp. Would this wheel/tire combo set up be ideal for growth or should I scratch the stagger and run 17x9 squared?
Bc coils, upgraded bushings all around, slight upgrade to brakes, so basic stuff I would just like to leave room for growth next year
Thanks in advance

From what I have read, you want to keep a square setup. A staggered setup will cause under steer due to the increase in grip that the rear has.
I am not exactly a credible source, just something I have come across on here.
Also along my journey, A sticky set of tires does more than slapping on a wider set. Just something to keep in mind when purchasing tires, since larger tends to be more expensive. I just picked up a set of FD rims vs the T2 rims so they are 16x8 vs 16x7. I have a feeling these will be sufficient for a while at 300hp.

Does the stagger setup cause understeer due to rim width or tire width? If I plan to run 235 40 and 255 40 either with staggered or square won't the contact patch be more equal with the very small stretch on the 10. Fenders not being an issue, wouldn't the staggered set up keep the contact patch the closest?

How do you plan on dealing with cooling? That intercooler is huge and will be blocking the radiator and oil cooler... Asking as I will be driving on the same course as well as VIR within the next year

Go square. Why would you want to not be able to rotate tires front to back easily? It will increase your tire budget by 60% or more going staggered...
The car is balanced with a square setup. You can use suspension, tire pressures, ride height to adjust handling balance. A square setup is just going to be more expensive to run, it won't improve performance.
