papiogxl's first pic shows what my FCs and my friends FCs were doing on turn in after braking with the rear roll bar attached- lifting the rear.

We tried disconnecting one end (then totally removed the rear bar since we liked it) and the rear wheel stayed on the ground making the car more stable under braking and on turn in after braking where the FC gets a little snappy.

Something to try if you haven't already.

I saw those pics on GotCone and thought, "The one NRSCCA solo I miss and there was actually another 7 there, dammit." I was on vacation or I would have been there also. And BLUE TII is right about the rear bar. I know several guys that remove or disconnect their rear bars on several different types of vehicles. I hope you can make more events. It's nice to have some rx7 company out there.

I was actually running with no rear bar. And the front was non-functioning as I had found the night before the bolt the holds the driver's side bracket had broken off, leaving the bracket to flex and the sway to be useless.

That's actually the first auto-x I've done since I built the car, so it was more of a shakedown than anything else. I found my diff to be flopping around, and took some time setting the brake bias to where it needed to be. I also have been scouring craigslist to find another set of mustang wheels for my A048's that I have laying around. Hopefully I can get that done before the next event.

Nice run Mark. This gives me motivation to get my new motor in and broken in...

Now just get a real exhaust on that car that will take full advantage of the Sterling.

It's not my 7 but i did have fun at the SCCA Solo Nationals. I placed 33rd out of 35 in a car I'd never driven before against the best drivers in the country. I know I still need a lot of work as a driver but it was still fun.

Nice. I won't even drive a Miata. I've heard so many Miata drivers tell me that they used to love racing RX7s, until they drove a Miata for the first time...

There were several ES and CSP Miata drivers at Nationals that used to be 7 drivers. They've been telling me for a couple years that I need to make the switch also. I did enjoy driving the Miata but I missed the sound of my 7. The biggest problem is my 7 isn't competitive at a National level. It's going to take money to finish preparing the car for CSP and I could spend the same $ on a stock Miata and be faster. I'm probably going to run the 7 at local events and co-drive a Miata at National ones.

I know what you mean. But I look at it like this, anybody can win in a Miata..

I enjoy being the underdog way too much to make the switch.

Back to my usual ride. This wasn't a very fun time. It felt like I was driving like an old lady out there. I only spun on 1 run out of 5 so I wasn't going fast enough.

Glad I didn't waste my time then. I drove mine on the street and all it wanted to do is slide in the rain. I really don't know what the deal is.
