FC-X Sneak Peak

What started out as a much easier way for me to test my devices has slowly turned into a full fledged effort to make a useful alternative to FC-Edit that runs natively on OSX.

Features
  • FC-Edit map compatible
  • Supports all known (?) interface devices
  • Built-in support for popular wideband models
  • Automated Tuning
  • More intuitive, easier to understand datalogging interface

Having done nearly nothing in objective-c prior to this, it has been amusing accomplishing what I want thus far.

At this point I have the majority of the interface framework completed and just need to finish up populating the UI elements. It's completely compatible with FC-Edit maps and can open/save them. Once that's finished, it should be good to go for a release while I work on the AutoTune/Datalogger. However, this project is more of a hobby and something to pass the time so an ETA should not be expected.

Unfortunately, it looks rather similar to FC-Edit, in that there's only so many ways you can present the data available. But, alas, here are some shots thus far.

Probably, once I get it finished up and somewhat presentable and go back and actually make the code presentable. Right now, it's quite the mess from my lack of Objective-C experience.

I think it looks rather cool , especially your photorealistic gauges . This should be able to also compile on Linux then I suppose ?

It would need to be ported to function properly, since it sits atop the Apple frameworks in OSX. The gauges are all based off the Defi series of gauges -- with some modifications here and there to make them more the style I like. That, and well, they don't make a speedometer so I had to fab that.

Just noticed , you have the incoming port set to Bluetooth . Did you make a special adapter or cable for that ? ( I remember you made a Datalogit like cable a while back )

This looks really good! Can't wait to try it.
Will this support high framerate analog style guage output to Display?
Will this (potentially) run in a VMware of linux/OSX(under windows)?

You could run it in VM... but for what you are looking to do as far as using a dashboard, something like raspexi-viewer would be much more suited for that.

There wasn't much interest in the OSX version, so I more or less benched it while I worked on other things (like the daughterboards for the second gens).

Didn't know there was that much interest. I can return to writing it and get it finished for the FD's.

I've not had a whole lot of time to throw at this, so it's kind of just sat around. Hopefully I'll have more free time in the coming weeks to finish this up, as most everything is all done.
