Mazda 1200 Coupe

I have stumbled upon a real gem at a wrecker, a Mazda 1200 coupe. If I'm not mistaken, this car was also the R100, powered by the 10A rotary. I am really tempted to buy the car, as it's a complete rolling car, with the original engine still in. What kind of resources are there out there for fixing up such an old Mazda? Is this a pipe dream, or can I get this car running again?

well its really depend on what you wanna do with...restoration wise, it will not be easy to find parts for it unless you have hook up in auz. just my $.02.

buy it now!!!!

Seriously though, as wackyracer said, you will be looking for parts in the land of OZ, and will be putting a good chunk of change into it to get it running.

Just depends on what you are planning to do with it I guess.

Did you end up buying it? I bought a running '71 1200 about a year ago. Couldn't pass it up since I've been looking for a nice R100 for years, it was the closest thing I could find.

Anything is possible, if you have money OR patience. With the inyernet, all this cat stuff, especially old car stuff, is soooo much easier.

Even if you can't get the original motor going, a 12a might be just the thing.

sounds like a good and rare find, jump on it-the 1200/r100 share many things,a 12a would certainly liven it up-even in standard form you'll be surprised at how well they perform, quite a nice but small package.over here in oz the parts aren't as plentiful as some think, however most can be had.
