NH Wheels for the RX7

I'm looking to invest in some 15" rims for my 1980. I want to get some tires and rims that I can use for autocrossing and a 13" rim is just not going to cut it. What brands should I look at that are relatively inexpensive?

For wheel's I'd go with Kosei K1s. They're light and cheap. I think tires might make the difference though.

I've had good results with Yokohama's in my past. I now stick to Michelin all season tires, though they seem like they are more expensive. Yokohama is cheap and quite sticky.

It's a bummer that the rx7 isn't a 4x100 bolt pattern, those are always available. I'm not sure how a wheel would matter, unless you're trying to cut weight. I'd invest in some quality tires.

Thinking about it, I'll bet almost no one makes tires for a 13" rim anymore.

Here's a small list with some pictures
Don't forget about circle track style wheels ie. diamond and company's like that, 14s and 15s can be relatively light as well.
Stepping up to at least 14's will get you into falken azenis rt615 / Toyo ra-1 type compounds which are excellent for autocross

I haven't had any problem getting tires for 13" rims. I just got snow tires from Tires Plus/Firestone a couple days ago. A few months ago I also got some all seasons from Discount Tire for a Nissan Altima with 13" rims.

SERIOUSLY?!? Chrome wheels are incredibly easy to take care of, Polished Aluminum is a nightmare to keep clean. Chrome you just hit with some spray on chrome wheel cleaner, brush lightly to get into the hard to reach areas and rinse off. Polished aluminum gets dull in less than a day and aluminum oxidizes into a black film that is damn near impossibleto get off hands and clothes

I clean my chrome wheels about as often as I wash my car and they look fine, my old polished aluminum wheels looked like crap all the time, drive anywhere and they were filthy, clean them one day and look like crap the next. The only wheels I ever had that were worse than aluminum were old magnesium rear wheels for drag racing.

Careful with the Miata wheel advise. I believe Miatas are 4X100 and a stock '80 RX-7 is 4X110.

Yeah i hate how the bolt pattern is just barely off. And my friend recommended that I should get some yokohama s-drives when I decide on some rims. Any thoughts?

I just picked up a set of 17" Konig Tantrums for $250. Craigslist is the best.
