Water Temp Gauge Wires
Hello,
I just bought a '88 Vert with Ford V8 in it. My issue is that I can not find the wires that connect to the temp sensor for the water temp gauge. I found 2 wires on the left fender that the young man that did the conversion had marked as " coolant level". I hooked those to the temp sensor but the factory gauge didn't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The wire coming off of the gauge itself is Yellow/White (part of the meter harness). This harness connects to the front harness and becomes Yellow/Black. The front harness then connects to the emission harness which is then Yellow/White and this is the wire coming from the sending unit. Where some of these wires are can only be discerned by you. You might just have to run a wire from your sending unit to the wire at the meter harness. And the coolant level is just that for it reads just the level, no temp involved here (for stock wiring that wire is Brown).

Temp Gauge Wires
First, the engine and emissions harnesses were removed by the PO when he removed the rotory motor. I sent 6 or 7 hours looking for the wires that satch suggested above. I found a single connector that has a black with a yellow stripe wire that also has the oil pressure gauge wire with it, oil press gauge works. I did not have the correct water temp sending unit for the RX, I bought one but have yet to install it. When I do I plan to connect that wire to it and fire it up.
Any further assistance would be greatly appriciated.
