water pump exchange questions
Can somebody please post a pic a 3rd gen water pump with housing and everything?
my question is can I replace my 90 turbo2 water pump for a 3rd gen one? The current 2nd gen one is giving me clearance issues with my new large turbo placement, purchased the turbo and manifold from turblown and it sets the turbo very high and forward, which means the top neck of the pump is right at the turbine housing pretty much. ive seen on the turblown website that they use a water pump housing that points straight out, is this a 3rd gen one?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Post a pic of the Turblown setup if you can.
I just changed a S5 to an S4,but I did the cover too.
I am going to do an FD to FC front cover and waterpump swap soon also.

because the pan bolts are in a different location and the oil pan on the 13BT is shorter.
It is also missing a bolt location in the corner so you'd have to drill and tap a hole to get the Pan to seal.
The FC pan has holes for the passenger side motor mount so that the bolts can go through it and the FD motor mounts are on the rear iron.So it doesn't get any bolts put through the pan at all.

s4 pump and s5 pump I know for a fact have different bolt patterns to mount onto their prospective water pump housing. So you can't put an s4 pump on an s5 waterpump housing and vice/versa..Sorry not sure about s6.
I'd wonder if the belts would actually align IF indeed you could get one of these pumps to mount though.
Then again the FD pump flows in reverse to an FC pump(impellers are different).I don't see that as a problem,I just wonder about how the belt routing would be established.

actually in answer to my own question s4 s5 and s6 pumps can only fit and work in their own respective housings i could tell just by looking at the gaskets on mazdatrix
