Exclamation Unknown Engine Bracket location ? 87 na

I bought a shell a few months back and the shell has no brackets for the motor mounts to bolt into. Im not really sure what im looking for because this is my first rx7.I have the brackets on the engine, I know there is the rubber mount piece.. But i cannot find the bracket for the bay.
Mazda has discontinued it.

Some pictures on the motor mount setup in the vehicle would be extremely helpful!

I'll try to describe this to ya:
The brackets being on the engine, the rubber mounts go on and then the whole thing sits down into the engine bay and connects to the Front Cross member(subframe).
If you look in the engine bay and see where it dips down to Flat across(engine out) you should see circular spots where the mounts will sit.Sort of rising up on each side of the engine bay..just below where the fenders would meet the subframe area.
they would be HERE..(picture this) > \... Flat spot... /<
Those little <,> things will sort of point to where the holes for the engine mount bolts would be located.(really exagerated though).

actually if you look UNDER the car you can see circular indents on the frame where the bolt holes are for the mounts. They actually look like "cup holders"..lol!

Ya,the drivers side bracket is like a "half a house" affair..sort of square with a angle for the rubber mount. It is Bolted to the center iron.
The passenger engine mount is a little more "complex" sort of thing. It may be a flat piece looking like a flat shoe horn but it bolts under the engine and the bolts pass through the oil pan and in turn bolt to the engine.(3 17mm bolts)
Those 2 mounts get put on the "rubber pucky things"(with those steel cups) and then go to the subframe.

What a relief.. Here i was looking for a non existent part! I went and checked it out after class, I completely understand what you were describing, thank you for clearing that up.
Ordered the mounts and hardware from Mazda today, Pretty cheap mounts compared to piston engine mounts!

Even cheaper would be if you played Hockey.
You take 2 pucks and drill them through.Use some bolts and Presto!.instant motor mount!

(search: "Hockey puck mod")
It's not just a Canadian thing or we would sell Bacon Seat covers too!

For future reference, consider downloading the parts catalog files. The exploded view drawings can be useful when you don't know what you don't have or what it looks like.

Even though I hail from the Frozen Tundra I would not really recommend this. It's a "in a pinch thing" personally.Have you felt how Hard a puck is?
But to answer your question,IF the FB engine mounts are the same as the FC then I would not see a problem doing this "mod".
I am strictly into S4 FC's so you would need the Resident 1st gen Guy,who is Diabolical1, to answer your FB inquiry.
