welcome. Any additional information you can provide will greatly help us.

First, What's your intention here? Are you trying to get information to help your mechanic or are you trying to take this into your own hands now?

While there being "no dash lights" certainly could be a clue as to a stupid mistake being made, you're going to have to be more specific. Are you seeing nothing on the cluster, no bouncing tach, no illumination, no HVAC and radio, no what?

I'll drop two pieces of advice/information on you while we wait for more info from you to dig into this:

1. These "JDM" or import motor are a joke. Did you notice that there's no startup warranty of any kind on a rotary? VERY seldom do they actually startup, and when they do, there's usually an internal failure requiring immediate rebuild anyway. Ever decent rebuilder/shop on this forum has stopped using these motors, even for cores, because usually they're not even in good enough internal shape to reuse any components. You may have a paper weight on your hands with poor compression, yielding the no start.
2. I'm assuming this is your local/family/area mechanic who's never seen a rotary in his life. Changing generic parts such as plugs, tie rod ends, filters, etc. are well within theses guys capabilities. However, anything beyond that, almost always ends in a large labor bill and a non-running car. Not even most Mazda dealerships have anyone qualified to work on these cars, let alone remembers when the 13B was on the road (the RX8 Renesis motor was the closest thing many of them have ever seen). I would HIGHLY suggest you pull it from the hands of your mechanic and either acquire a daily driver while you tinker with the car for the next 6-12months in your spare time, or find the nearest QUALITY rotary specialist. This will probably require you to ship the car.

Look outside the box..meaning outside your town, city, suburb, villa or whatever habitat you dwell at..lol!!
You don't just get the luxury of finding a Rotary mechanic at every street corner as the car is not common.
Check the regional sections on the forum that pertain to your area as guys will post their info on shops near them...and you.

Great..another JDM engine..I hope someone qualified at least check that out before installing it or you would be back at square one.
