Can u put a FD 13b into a FC
I have a 1988 rx7fc and I need a new motor. The only motors I can find are the 13b motors from the FD models. I was wondering if I could mount it on the same trans too. (Trans form the fc).

The engines are physically the same size and bolt up to the transmissions, but the engine mounts and fuel/electronic systems are different.
If you just need the correct 13b engine for your FC they are easy enough to find by asking around in RX7 groups on facebook or on here, and it should be a direct fit that way.

Buying a used engine of unknown quality is a crap shoot. And there’s usually a reason it was replaced anyway. Consider a rebuild. Then you know what you have and that it will fit. This guy has been around for decades, and looks to be in your area.

If u know where I can buy a motor or get some part can u let me know I’m trying not to spend too much. But there are a lot of motors people are selling from fd rx7

for the sake of your original question, the simple answer is yes. the engine will bolt to your tranny. no problem there. to extend the question further, there are ways you can get it into the car as well.
now ... for the sake of the question you really need to answer, i have a few questions.
1. are you repairing the car, or are you planning on building it? if this is your plan to get it running again because of the dead engine, then it will be a grossly inefficient (and expensive) way to do it. you're far better served just waiting it out and trying to find proper FC engine.
2. is your car turbo? if it is, then you may be able to get away with a little more than if it's N/A, but still far from plug and play, as they say. that said, i still would not encourage you to do it.
the takeaway is don't do it. you've already expressed not wanting to spend "too much", and there is no scenario where you spend for just the engine.
when you have enough posts to access the Classifieds forum, then you can look for the parts you need to rebuild yours, or you can check your Regional forum and see if you can find any leads to a working engine somewhere near you.
on a sidenote, as far as Rotary Resurrection is concerned, he has been a stand-up guy when it comes to doing business. i can say that much.

Depending on your fab skills and time its completely doable and relatively straightforward. If you're going to stay NA there's zero reason to, NA engines and parts are readily available and haven't gotten bitten by the recent FC/rotary tax nearly as hard.
