RX7 fullcut looking for new chassis
Hi,
I have a fullcut of RX7 fd3s '94 with 13brew engine; complete body, seat, all body panels.
What I am missing is "only" a chassis. For the info, that Indonesian region is not allowed to import second hand car, so the chassis hunting might be very challenging. Looks like I only have one option if I want to keep RX7 body, which is to use any car available in my region (no RX7 is available).
My question is clear : is there any chassis that suits or need only a little mod to keep the RX7 body ? Or else if that is not possible at all, I will only use the 13b engine to the Mazda Capella '75.

i'm not sure if i'm understanding you fully, but i think you're saying you bought a chopped FD that would be illegal to re-assemble. is that it?
i would vote to build the Capella, then you'll have a bad-*** Rx-2 and those are my FAVORITE old-school cars.
i don't have any idea as to what modern or modern-ish cars you have there in Indonesia, but i would imagine most of them are FWD and probably not really worth the effort. i suppose if you found something like Miata though, then it could be pretty cool. a light truck (Mazda B-series, Toyota, or Nissan Hardbody) would also make a nice project.

Yes I have the chopped body of the RX7.
Actually if I re-assemble it with legal cars, it will be ok tho'. The regulation here might not be as tough as other region about this matter.
My intention in orderly basis are:
1. Use the RX7 body (as the body is a super hot for sure). Then I need to find the equal chassis of RX7 since I can not find original RX7 chassis around.
If there are its equal chassis that fits into its RX7 body, I will do other market search for them.
And yes modern cars here (above '82) are mostly FF design; except Benz, bmw. New Miata is too costly for this project ( at least 55 to 65 gran) so I will skip it, agree with you.
2. Build old school project, means as said to get its RX7's 13b engine swapped into my Capella or other old school car such as Mazda 808 or Corolla/Corona prior to '82 year.
I will keep posted the progress of this idea and keep my mind open for any (wild) ideas.
