Rx-7 with a custom engine? Worth more?

Hey guys, I'm looking at importing a RX-7 from Japan. One of the ones for sale comes with a custom built engine but is 2k over the usual price. Is it worth the extra? The seller doesn't really know much about it since he purchased it from a auction. Here's a image,

^Agreed.
Try contacting R Magic with that number and ask them what was done and when. Otherwise you're paying 2k for that sticker.

On top of all that, make sure it actually has that custom engine in the car.

Not familiar with R Magic, but other than the intake, I see nothing aftermarket or special. On the contrary, the worth of that open intake is debatable, and whoever failed to cover the opening in the top of the intercooler duct should be slapped.

Thanks, I guess I won't get it then. Another question I have is that there's a few people who say that they've got a RX7 bathurst for sale but I thought they only released that in Australia? and this is a 95. Here's what it says on the sticker "RB Special edition" could it just be the paint color for all we know? In Canada you can import JDM spec cars that are atleast 15 years or older. What is the best not super rare RX7 I can get that is atleast 15 years or older?

Thank you

I believe you are speaking of the Rx-7 SP. It was only made in 1995 and only for austrailia. In 2001 the Bathhurst R was made to commerate the SP in Japan only. A thourgh search on the web will bring you all the info you need on models released and specs with all of them. How hard is it as a canadian citizen to import JDM vehicles? To stay on topic just PM me thanks!!

its actually very easy the only mod that needs to be done usually is daylight headlights. Would you guys pay a extra grand for a 96 type r over the 95? The only increase seems to be a 16bit ecu and 10bhp. Don't I have to change the ecu and turbos anyways if im looking to get to 400hp?

Thank you

I'm not a good person to ask about what I'd pay. Those cars can't be imported legally into the U.S....regardless of what anyone will tell you. And the steering wheel is on the weird/silly side anyway.
