WY Runs, idle goes crazy, floods, won't start

Ok so here's the situation.....everytime I try to start my car (88 na) it floods. After I remove the plugs, clean and dry them, and reinstall, the car will start and run. When you drive it, the idle goes extremely high, to the point that you have to ride the brakes to control it. Shut the car off, and it floods again. What could be causing this?

Sounds like the classic leaking injector problem.

Have the injectors professionally cleaned and tested by an injection shop.

I'm not entirely sure where I can get them cleaned here. Is there a good place online to buy new ones?

It's cheaper to mail off the ones you have and get them cleaned. I'm sure if you shop around, theres plenty of stores online though.

I bought the car for $750.......I've cleaned out the rest of the fuel system, replaced the fuel pump, filter, and had the tank boiled. The car has 50k original miles. If I have to get new injectors I'm still ahead. How many cc injectors should it have in it?

The on line service manual will have these answers and than some. Factory injectors for an NA are 450 cc's.
