FL Retractor issues....

I've read the threads here on this subject, but not reading any clear direction. I have 2 headlight switches and the problem is the same trying both of them, the headlights will pop down when I begin to connect the switch and car connection but then nothing once inserted all the way. So common sense tell me this is a wiring issue?? thanks for any advice. Would the headlight relay (2nd box in very front be a cause?)

What year is the car? If it's a second generation then there are 4 wires to each headlight motor. The White/Green wire has constant voltage but this wire is not part of the headlight switch thus that leaves three wires. The Black wire at the motor is the ground connected to the body close to the motor and is also not part of the headlight switch. This leaves two wires, one Red/Yellow which has voltage w/the lights in the down position. The other wire being Red/Blue would have voltage when the headlights are turned in upward position by the switch. You could check each of these wires and see what is most likely your problem. If the problem is internal to the switch there are threads on which relay does what and how to remove and replace it if need be.
