CA Question, Coolant leak

I'm still looking for the right RX7 FC and I found a nice looking car with a newly rebuilt engine but he states this.

"drives great besides a coolant jacket leak which means it smokes at cold start but once warmed up no issues whatsoever"

So from all the reading I've been doing would this mean it's leaking from the engine/coolant seals into the combustion chamber correct?

Seems odd a new engine would do this if done correctly unless it can be from another source.

It means the guy sucks at rebuilding and you should pass this car up,unless you want to rebuild the engine again.

OK thanks, glad I've been doing allot of reading about these cars. It really helps knowing what to look at.

Any Rotary engine that has coolant go into the internals NEEDS a rebuild.

yeah pass on it. i also saw the ad in the bay. he wanted 2500, but it's not worth it since the coolant leak is the main problem. he also pulled his ad off.

did you check the black 90/91 in monterey? keep in mind that any rotary over 100k is due for a rebuild. some may last longer, but it's going to need one eventually. better to rebuild one asap once getting over 100k or else you risk needing to buy new housings and such.
