Looking for info on FC RX7
I am looking at buying a FC RX7 and was hoping yall may be able to answer some questions I have. First off, when looking at an FC what are the main things I need to be looking at, and where do the major issues usually come from? Secondly, aside from the engine are there any major differences between the TII and other models. I am wanting a TII but was thingking about doing an engine swap into a lower end model to avoid the extra price tag associated with that model. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

If you want to "avoid the extra price tag associated with that Model" then why not buy a 5 lug Normally aspirated FC?
Nothing wrong with a good running N/A.
Major issues are poorly maintained engines, blown engines,Ricer slide into the telephone pole body damage..and I wanna swap a v8 in it but I can't afford it,so I have to sell it..
Lots of Info on the Forum,Ben,that will distinguish the good modifications from the "WTF did I do" mods..
Check the Sec Gen Specific Section..I love that place. It has everything.

How To Buy An '86-'92 Non-Turbo RX-7
How To Buy An '86-'92 Turbo RX-7
If you want a TII, buy a TII. You'll spend far more (generally) swapping TII parts into an NA than just buying the turbo car.
While the basic chassis the same from TII to NA, the entire drivetrain is different between cars. Different engine, ECU/harness, transmission, driveshaft, differential, half shafts. Then all the little parts attached to those items. Sure, with some experience you can mix and match NA/TII stuff but that's not something I'd suggest for a beginner.
