little plastic tank on pass side firewall?
Year: 87
model: Turbo II
Specifics: 5lug & 5spd
there is a little plastic tank that looks like a washer fluid tank on the passenger side of the firewall. when looking through the parts microfiche, its listed as a "starting fluid" tank. what function is that and what goes in there?

It is a coolant/antifreeze reservoir that has nothing to do with the engine/radiator.
Mazda designed this system for extremely cold starts (subzero temps) it pumps a small amount of antifreeze in the intake, it was mainly useful in carbureted RX-7. These things fail often so I removed the line going to the intake and capped it off. Not too important but it's there for a reason. I live in Colorado and it gets cold but never had problems w/ out it.
