jdm turbo ii engine on a na drivetrain
So im trying to turbo swap my 1989 gtu s5 na and I heard you can swap just the engine and plug and play the na ecu to the turbo engine give or take a few splicing points, installing a longer throttle cable and swaping the turbo clutch and flywheel for the non turbo clutch and flywheel as long as it's a s5 to s5 swap.
My question is what else would I need to do the swap, and would getting a stand alone ecu help me while im doing this project?

You need to use the N/A flywheel and clutch If you use the trans. The splines are different between the TII and N/a Trans inputs shafts,
You didn't mention the AFM and Boost sensor though.
Stand alone?.You going to put a lot of power on this setup?.You'll end up breaking the N/A Stuff.

You will also need the complete S5 T2 MAF N370,N370 Pressure Sensor,N370 ECU because the N350 N/A one will start and run the engine but you will have a high idle and in boost you will run lean which you don't want to and you will need a T2,FD3S or a Walbro which you will also need a Fuel Pressure Regulator, the N/A harness will work fine, all you will need to do is to splice three wires one for the knock sensor and two for the boost sensor, try and replace all of your vacuum lines and injector grummets because you will not want to fit up the engine and when you start you have a big vac leak I am just talking from experience I just finish this same swap and she is running fine,if you need more help just pm me and we will see how it goes.
