idle problem please help

so I am new to the rx7 world and i just picked up a 88 rx7 10th anniversary , it has a high idle around 2500 rpm so i lubed up all the spring and linkage and everything seem to be moving and free but when i pull back the pedal the idle drops. this could be an easy fixed but im stumped

If it is all stock it will kick the all weather start(AWS) on to rev the engine around 2500rpm at first, then slowly lower the rpm.

Now if you gradually get the car to idle @750-800 then you are golden.
Other that that you will need to post some info on the car,(mods, etc) and perhaps some pics of the throttle body area.

Some possible causes are the throttle cable is too taught, or the Fast Idle Cam/Thermowax is not operating properly.

You could pour very hot water on it or hit with a heat gun and see if the associated linkage moves properly. The system has a rod/piston which would push outwards against the linkage.
