Identifying my exact FD model
Hello gents
I have recently owned my FD for 2 months and am beginning to question what model it is. It is a JDM import in white, manufactured 05 Mar '98. Now this is where things get interesting...
The model code on the manufacturing plate is 'JKE' - my only real information on this is that the V1 Type R is JAE, and that version 4 cars are JKx. Thus assuming this is a Type R. Then, I look at the brakes, and it has the RS/RZ 314mm discs; but 4 seats. Which leads me to thinking it is a Type RS? There's no paperwork indicating a brake upgrade (I think you'd be mad to do it optionally, anyway). Trying to decipher what I can with some good ol' common sense.
The previous owner had no real knowledge of the car and the import sheet is long missing (car was imported in 2003). I have Googled my heart out yet have come up very short.
The vehicle ID is FD3S-421139 if anyone is able to shed any light with that. Any input or thoughts would be welcome - I'd finally like to lay this to rest!
Thanks for reading.
