How do I get this "woo-woo" sound?
I am sure this topic was discussed before, but I didn't find anything about it....
How do I get this "woo-woo" sound when the bov releases the air?
Is that a special kind of bov or just a special setup or or or???
Here is a video to show you what I mean:
I am talking about the sound when thy guy changes the gears.
Thanks a lot

You put your lips together when you are changing gears and go "woo-woo"..LOL!
Sorry man!.I had to say that..I could not resist!
Honestly it sounds like a light compressor surge on the turbo,so I'll let Sarge comment on that since he is into 3rd Gens.

Nope, not compressor surge at all, it's the BOV. I had bought a generic BOV on eBay that sounded exactly like that and installed it on my turbo Civic before I sold it (so I could keep my Greddy RZ)

...Are you sure that generic blow off wasn't causing compressor surge...? Lol. Pretty stumped on how a blow off would be able to release air in two separate portions like it sounds. My SSQV on my Full Race S2000 had a very similar noise and it was also compressor surge, although not quite the exact same as the one in the video.

Exactly that's the sound I mean.....
Maybe I have to post it into the pro section to find that out....
I can't believe this is so rare to understand what it is...

As I understand it, most cars not running a bov are dedicated track cars. There is a small performance value in keeping full boost pressure in the intake tract, but they also have race budgets and people to replace consumable components like turbos that are additionally stressed from no bov.
I'm not sure about the wisdom of running no bov on a street car....especially with stock twins. Mazda thought they were needed. And no offense but that sounds...undesirable IMO.

My car had Compressor surge and that is what it sounded like until I got a good blow off valve.
It better be good it was 400 bucks!
I also ran the engine without a BOV and the Turbo would do that when you switched gears.
