Still getting use to this site....i know there are post on why coolant ends up under the rug, (bad heater core?)but i cant find it.
I have an 85 gslse
I need to fix asap bc its getting cold here lol
Also would that cause it to trow coolant thru the window vents when i turn on front defrost????
It makes my window kinda foggy and when i wipe it smears and leaves window Looking dirty
I aslo kno i have to remove dash right?

It MAY just be the coolant valve on the driver side, right at the entry of the heater core.
Steering wheel comes off easily. Follow the FSM procedure. Basically take off the Mazda logo by prying, then undo the nut. Place a pillow between the wheel and your face then rock the wheel while pulling firmly. It will let go suddenly, hence the need for the pillow.

If you use the Search function under the "forum jump" (lower right of screen) you can do an advanced search of the First gen Specific section.
That is where I read 7 pages of threads and posted those two for you.
Some of those very threads mention that valve.
and Yes...if there is an internal leak of coolant inside the cabin then it shows up as a slick fog on the windshield. That is usually Heater core..BUT then again,as Aaron says check out that valve too.
