HELP !!! Cant find thread/post on cooland under driver side rug.

Still getting use to this site....i know there are post on why coolant ends up under the rug, (bad heater core?)but i cant find it.
I have an 85 gslse
I need to fix asap bc its getting cold here lol
Also would that cause it to trow coolant thru the window vents when i turn on front defrost????
It makes my window kinda foggy and when i wipe it smears and leaves window Looking dirty

I aslo kno i have to remove dash right?

Help please.

Sounds like you have a leaky heater core.

your ASAP just turned into a 3 hour Remove and replace heater core.(if you are SUPER quick!)

It MAY just be the coolant valve on the driver side, right at the entry of the heater core.

Steering wheel comes off easily. Follow the FSM procedure. Basically take off the Mazda logo by prying, then undo the nut. Place a pillow between the wheel and your face then rock the wheel while pulling firmly. It will let go suddenly, hence the need for the pillow.

where exactly is the coolant valve??? the issue is more towards the driver side.....also like i stated before ones i turn on the heater the window fogs up what seams to be coolant.

If you use the Search function under the "forum jump" (lower right of screen) you can do an advanced search of the First gen Specific section.
That is where I read 7 pages of threads and posted those two for you.
Some of those very threads mention that valve.

and Yes...if there is an internal leak of coolant inside the cabin then it shows up as a slick fog on the windshield.That is usually Heater core..BUT then again,as Aaron says check out that valve too.

I say the valve because you can access it without removing the dash. Easy place to check for coolant weeping as it is visible from the driver side foot well.
