finding a replacement engine
My local Mazda dealer said replacement rotary engines are no longer available. I figure that means direct from Mazda. What do people on the forum do? Someone must have one. I don't think I can get into the classified yet, because of my message count. What is the going price for a rebuilt with no or low mileage on it? 12A carbureted. Tks.

Mazda won't sell housings to the public; or so ive heard. You need to either have an insider you know or order through a company. eg. Atkins Rotary or Mazdatrix
At Atkins; we keep ordering what we can, but even then we have only a few "new" on the shelf. Quite a few used stuff. Especially for the 12a iirc.

If we are talking about the 13b also, Ray at Malloy quotes on housings. I had heard this kind of stuff before so I emailed him 2 weeks ago and he quoted $850 each on FD rotor housings. But maybe he serves as our insider and Mazda is trying to get more value out of the rebuild business by limiting the part availability. I would like to know more if anyone knows anything else.
