FD Flasher relay box

So this is my first thread in the forums. I dont get on here much as you may see on my post count however I cannot find much information on the F100 relay unit on the drivers side kick panel area. The model in particular is 1993 touring. I started wiring my car back up and realized that only some power was working (locks, misc interior lights) so I traced everything back to the black relay box and took it apart to realize that I had some melted internal connections. This was where I was losing power (0amps reading). I have a question. 1) Are the jap spec f100 boxes the same as us spec f100 boxes?

If the pin-count is the same, then the relays are probably the same.

They are not interchangeable. Once you have sufficient post count, post a WTB thread for CPU#2. They can be had for around $65 or so.

Does anyone know if this flasher box also controls the windows?

I have this weird regular ticking noise that sounds like the flashers (but isn't?) that comes from behind the driver dash (I'm a 1999 FD) when the key is in the acc position.

With the ticking, the window rolls up/down only in line with the ticking, starting and stopping in rhythm.

The key cylinder light also flashes according to the ticking beat, but other car functions seem to be ok.

thoughts??

Where is the F100 box located?

Thanks guys!!

Yes, it's associated with the box. In the rhd cars if you look under the dash on the driver side, you will see it mounted horizontally. It's the most prominent black item under there. In some cases what you're describing is only prevelant when the temperature is cold. Sometimes it does it always regardless of the weather

yes this is a symptom of a bad cpu2. A 1999
Car will have an F110 marked unit.
