Question Custom Steering Rack?

Hi Folks,

I would like to have a very tight steering feel in my FD and am interested in people's input on what they have used. I had read a few reviews of Atomic Rex and it seemed like people were ecstatic about the product until the company went MIA. What is comparable to this that people have done? I will be doing a manual steering rack and would like a quicker steering ratio. Has anyone had custom steeering racks made for their specifications? This will not be a daily driven car, purely a fun/track car so don't mind if its a little darty. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks!

Maval rebuilds your current rack though, correct? I also wanted a lower steering ratio for quicker steering.

Nothing available unless custom. Ive been looking into this too.. Atomic Rex was the only thing that existed for a change into a quicker steering ratio.

I used a manual rack from an 87 t2.

Not sure about response vs. stock, but it's nice.

I was thinking of going the Woodward steering route. They seem to build custom racks for race cars. It might be a bit pricey, not sure yet. Anyone else ever seen anything from themin the wild?

Considered a steering quickener? Easier than changing racks.

Interesting, didn't know about these to be honest. How well do they work, is there a particular one you recommend for a manual rack?
