Cold start idle
Hi guys I am new to the forum and I am after a rx7 turbo 11, I've seen one but there is a issue with the idle when started from cold, it's revs to about 2rpm then drops the rises again, what could this be? Is it just the idle control valve that needs adjusting?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

The cold start system does make the engine go to 2k or so then drop down gradually.
You can check out how to adjust your TPS (throttle position sensor) and also you can dabble in timimg, the IAC( Idle air control) the Thermowax system..and of course the throttle cable itself.
I have actually never had too much problem with my cars having a bad idle.
I even went as far as removing all the crap for cold start and removed the plates in my Throttle body.
My idle is about 1000rpm.I don't just start up and go though. My habit is letting the car warn up to temp(175) and then go.Not the best for economy but I feel it helps the car perform better when it is already warm.
