Cleaning Greddy Intake Air Filters

Hey All,

So over the past year my airfilters have turned into a discoloring effect. From blue to an ugly brown color. I tried to clean them with soapy water, but no change. I'll buy new air filters if necessary but am curious if anyone else had the same issue or had some type of secret to get the brown color off of it.

I've never had an intake with a foam filter element. I suppose anything that will cut grease and not degrade foam. What type of detergent/soap have you tried? Wondering if something like "Shout" laundry pre-wash might work.

I'm not aware of anything that will completely clean the stains. If the filter is an ugly brown color because it is old, crusty, and brittle, then you should replace it because small pieces of brittle foam will gradually fall off and get sucked into your engine.

The GReddy foam filters are the "dry" type that can be cleaned but they should not be oiled.
