AB pulling coolant into motor

i have never overheated my motor but lately i am pulling coolant into my motor on my 85 gsl. not sure if it is a cracked housing or a seal/gasket problem. it goes both ways, as i start my car from cold the compression pumps air into my coolant until warm then draws it into my motor upon warm. how can i tell.

Doesnt matter really. Either way youre going to need to tear it down. Id drain the coolant and run it for a quick second, to get all of the excess water out of the engine. you dont want it to rust. the put some oil in the comp chambers and turn it over a couple times. Good luck.

If its pushing THAT much air a cracked iron is a very likely suspect. Either way it sounds like you need a rebuild

It doesn't take much of a bad seal to have water pour out the exhaust or push it through the overflow. I had a similar experience with a pitted iron.

This engine will require a rebuild. If you can't get to it very soon, just remove the 10mm bolt at the bottom of the middle iron on the drivers side to remove all the water in the keg.
