"BRAKE" light on '85 S
I just got my hands on a very clean '85 RX-7 S (82,000 miles). I had to replace the back brakes and bled the system but I am guessing I did not keep the reservoir full enough while bleeding and triggered the sensor for the "BRAKE" warning lamp.
Question, how does one re-set this sensor to get the light to turn off?
Thanks in advance for the help.

welcome to the board.
i don't think there is anything to RESET on the Gen I cars, but i won't swear to it. i only learned in the last 12 months that they have a TPS.
anyway, with regard to your issue, if the reservoir is full enough and there are no shorts in the sensor circuit, the only other place i can think to check is where it wires in to the e-brake. since you also mentioned your rear brakes, i would say check go ahead and check the e-brake.

Thanks for the welcome.
I took a closer look at the master cylinder. There is a plastic disc floating in the reservoir that looks like it has a magnet in the center of it. There is a black clip that has 2 wires coming out of it and it goes all the way through the plastic reservoir in its very own hole.
I am guessing that the disc with the magnet somehow closes the circuit if the brake fluid level gets too low. I would have thought that once you replenish the fluid the disc would open the circuit and turn the brake light off. I cant really see to the bottom of the reservoir as I used super blue brake fluid.
maybe there is a second magnet that gets left behind when the level gets too low?
curious.
